Modern East Coast Rap
 

Maybe it's just me but it seems that East Coast Rap has taken a bit of a hit over the years. There doesn't seem to be too many guys coming up from to represent the East Side (especially from NYC). The only two good ones I can name, outside the mainstream guys from the 80's & 90's, are Aesop Rock & Immortal Technique.

Chino XL is from NJ.

Chiddy Bang is from Philly, i'm sure there's alot more though, just can't remember atm

Jedi Mind Tricks are also from Philadelphia.

Most of that list is covered by the quoted line but I will try to check out those guys and the ones that the others sent.

It seems that way right now but it's too bad that the East Coast is sort of out of it right now.

just because you and i deem it necessary to hate our local music scene doesn't mean it's not influential right now.

That being said, **** rhymesayers and **** what they're doing to my favorite artists, im looking at you blueprint, aesop rock, rob sonic etc

Ghostface's Fishscale came out in 2004 (maybe '05), that stuff is hard.
