I think that the jazz samples are great, it's probably my favourite element of the record. Are you saying you liked the lyrics best? They have their moments but rhyming something something nigga with something something...nigga isn't really what I'd call quality. Then again I don't consider Kendrick much of a wordsmith.

the Jazz Samples were OK IMO but i dont like kendrick's voice all that much so he didnt sound as good with that production. Also i think artist like K.R.I.T do better as far as jazz samples ( i know i mention K.R.I.T alot but i really love his music, besides cadillatica i liked all his projects) And while i do agree Kendrick is no Aseop rock the lyrics were atleast slightly on point. Also not a big fan of his flow. I think his flow on blacker the berry brought the album down a lil

Kendrick can be a great lyricist but he rarely goes for the crazy linguistics. Not his style, and he's fully aware that it wouldn't be a great car££r move.

Based on first listen it seems like an album that wouldn't be a grower quite honestly. I'll listen again today though.

Also, can somebody explain why Kendrick does that stupid old man voice? Man he really shoots himself in the foot with strange and completely horrendous decisions. I mean that last "track" should be banished to the depths of hell but for some reason he's actually put it on his real life album.
