I think she's decent. I wouldn't call her artist of the decade or anything but she has some good songs.

Would you say she's different to the likes of Rihanna & co and writes her own music?

I'll have to give her a listen I guess.

I have no idea if she writes her own music but I like how it sounds.

I thought the exact same way when I first heard it Smega, but boy does it grow.
It's now 5 starred on my Ipod and one of my favourite songs.

Banks herself is the same. Her '91 EP is actually really good, when you learn to accept her style, which is actually pretty clever. I can't read her lyrics aloud without getting tongue-tied.

Also;

I did feel as if Fantasea ran out of steam at times, but it's high points were exceptionally good.

To be fair part of the reason I dislike that track is the content. I just find it vulgar to be honest (ironic, considering my username.) My first impression is that she's just another female rapper trying to be 'different' while being sexually explicit to get people talking, file with Lil' Kim, Nicki Minaj etc...

I'll definitely give her a chance though.

EDIT - I don't like that Prodigy cover either.

Yeah, that irony is quite amusing. She is different, but I don't think she has to try too hard to be so.
Unlike Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj who tried to pass of as barbie dolls with attitude, Banks is legitimately talented and has a good ear for beats as well as a unique and impressive flow.

It took a while to sink in for me, but once it has, you'll realize how good she is.

Really? Too vulgar? She's certainly trying to different (such a bad thing,i know) but the premiere single 212 is hardly sexploitation or whatever. Your being very presumptuous.

I really only like that 212 song though
