I personally do not care for Kanye West. I think he is terribly arrogant, which wouldn't bother me so much if he actually had some powerful raps. His music doesn't make me feel anything- and I think its the lack of passion or genuineness in his voice. Don't get me wrong, I think that there are way worse rappers out there, but Kanye West just doesn't convince me in his raps therefore I cannot connect to his music.

just my two cents
really? whe you get to the point of superstardom like kanye has it's rare that people just forget about you. And i think Kanye is just as big a celebrity as jay z now. If not more so (at least outside of america he is anyway)

Nah, a decade down the line, maybe he wont be forgotten about. But he will always be remembered as a meer popstar. Jay-z has a much higher status in music than Kanye. Always will have.

I put Kanye in the same category as Nelly & Ja Rule and similar cats who have come and gone.

I suppose it's a bit different because he produces as well (and many of his productions are good.)

his rhymes also aren't as nursery rhyme as the aforementioned...

who knows. we'll have to wait and see i guess

It seems people love to hate Kanye. I'm one of the few (it seems) that likes both his music and his personality. Yeah he's an idiot but I find that amusing, I don't have to put up with them, so I find it funny looking from the outside. He's confident and ****y which I like. Musically I think everything he's done so far is pretty great as well, he's nailed some great fun albums, matured nicely on 808's and when he's featuring on a track I'm usually interested to see what it's like. I always think he adds to the tracks he's on, pretty much anything he graces is going to be big. Then there's the production, I don't rate him up there with many others but there's no doubt he's got talent and he's great at what he does. I'm afraid for you guys, he's here to stay and I'm interested in what he does next music-wise, but I hope it adds to his great catalogue of music so far.

I not fond of his personality, his musics pretty bearable to me.
I kind of loved Supernova before it was severly overplayed .

Well as a rapper hes forgettable, definitley. But as a celebrity i'm not so sure. He makes an ass of himself so often at award shows ect that everytime anyone reminisces about past shows they'll mention kanye.

Kanye right now is probably bigger than jay z(outside the U.S anyway) i remember when they first aired Jay z's music video for run this city it was referred to as "Rhianna and kanye wests new song". Simply because it would attract more attention.

Kanye is way better at re-inventing himself then ja rule ever was :-/

The man is a talented enough producer that he will be able to keep himself relevant for a while.

Really, as fans of MUSIC, who are we to judge an artist off of personality or include it on our opinion on them at all?

To be perfectly honest I'm sick of people calling him a jackass, he's probably hiding behind that facade so stupid ignorant people will buy his music. Hell, I thought people like Kanye were cool back when I was a kid.
