Jesus was a gift from God. I think i kinda summed up his thought process though.

I didn't feel like making a new thread so I decided to throw this here.....anyone else hear it?

I love how depending on how dirty your mind is, the song means something completely different

I guess if you think about it in the clean way....it also fits and this is a textbook song for him. I actually thought about why isn't he in a remix for this when I first heard the song. Someone ninja'ed my mind and made it happen.

I love this song, I think you should make a Beyonce thread she's actually a good singer. I love this video of her, it's absolutely beautiful. She's telling it like it is.

333 06-24-2009 09:07 AM

You should get on that, Vanilla. I don't know much about Beyonce, but have always respected her as a musician and how she carries herself in public.

As for Mr. West, I think he's one of the better mainstream artists out there. I've always enjoyed his work. Sometimes I think his flow can be better, but his beats and lyrical content are always enjoyable.

Kool_Dude_HaMeR 06-24-2009 09:34 AM

I used to be quite a fan of The College Dropout. I stopped liking him when Golddigger came out as a single in 2005(I think), after that I haven’t really paid much attention to him as none of his tunes were all that great.

Alright I will. :)

I will put together some interesting videos and see what the general consensus is on her musical talent.

He once proclaimed he was gods gift to rap, word for word, no joke. If you're a christian artist, thats cool, but nobody is a gift from god, stop being so full of yourself. He's a douche.

meh guess you haven't talked to a christian lately but they will tell you that we are all gifts from god so I don't see any arrogance in that statement that you do. He needs to be full of himself especially in his industry and trying to break out of the producer rapper mold but that's all he'll ever be to me. You have to be full of yourself or else you end up being full of self -doubt from others trying to break you down. I admit he's a bit cocky but it works for him. Some people have type A personalities and he's one of them.

the album you are thinking of is probably 808s and heartbreaks and as far as his performance all you saw was his AI one and deemed him a horrible performer based off of one experience. Kanye west is all about performance! I guess you haven't seen any footage from his shows. Especially the last show he had, The lights and sounds one or w/e that had Lupe Fiasco in it.

I don't have any idea why I spent so much time defending him. Maybe I need to go out for a walk and get some fresh air:usehead:

gingerbreadhead 06-26-2009 02:34 PM

he's ok... it's hit and miss

i agree. you can't complain about poverty and politics and then wake up to buy a diamond necklace. he contradicts himself too much

Surell 07-06-2009 10:15 PM

So does like, every rapper.

S_Shinji 07-06-2009 10:24 PM

Kayne is a great producer, but his rapping is average at best. At least he has an assload of guests that get the job done. He has a good voice too.

CrAzyBeAuTiFul 07-07-2009 12:54 AM

Kanye likes fishsticks

Sam-Y 07-07-2009 03:32 PM

ohh...got it! lol

djchameleon 07-08-2009 03:03 AM

I found this awesome video on youtube where they show you all of the samples that Kanye used for certain songs

Now I know why my stepdad's always hating on kanye and saying that he raided his mother's record collections to get the samples that he uses

simplephysics 07-08-2009 05:15 PM

^ At least the man's got good taste.
and lol at the hairbanging in the Mandrill sample.

offshoreprezi 07-08-2009 05:51 PM

In the hood.. dudes don't say pause or no homo no more.. They say "No Kanye"

Surell 07-08-2009 10:16 PM

Yeah, Kanye's got great taste in samples. My mom called the Steely Dan and Elton John though. I knew he got Curtis Mayfield on Touch the Sky but not on Drunk and Hot Girls.

~Paranerd~ 07-09-2009 10:13 PM

I love Kanye's music! he makes everything sound so good.

hitfrankthetank 07-13-2009 06:33 AM

He can produce but can't rap.

chigwell hammer 07-14-2009 06:12 AM

Kanye west is the nuts :) , That is all :D

Agreed. And he's been producing a bit before he rapped.. Not a big fan of his lyrics.

Let's see how he does with producing Jay-Z's next album, The Blueprint 3..

brykupono 07-20-2009 12:44 AM

Not sure why he is a household name :p

Antonio 07-25-2009 05:22 PM

yeah, i also love the whole concept with that cd, along with Late Registration and Graduation

Ogaga4Luv007 08-07-2009 09:23 AM

I love kanye West song's-

tr2n'n'on 08-08-2009 08:02 PM

he's talented/skilled in a lot of ways but he's just such a clown. there's a certain soul to sincere music, that you can tell when it's being made for the sake of music and when it's being made so someone can uplift their own ego. I can't feel the sincerity of kanye's music, i dont care how "heartbroken" he claims to be

PoeticSsoul 08-11-2009 02:39 PM

He's talented in every way but he's so damn arrogant.....

atom 08-17-2009 05:45 PM

When people ask me about how i feel about kanye using auto-tune i compare it to Bob Dylan picking up the electric guitar. There'll be some who hate it and some who love it.

I personally hope he puts away the auto-tune.

Bucket Foot 09-02-2009 07:18 PM

This guy is the man. Very consistent and is able to change when things get alittle stale or old.

Some of my favorite Kanye West Songs: "Hey Mama", "Never Let Me Down", "Robocop", "Barry Bonds", "Diamonds From Sierre Leone", "Drive Slow", "Good Morning", "Promised Land"

djchameleon 09-03-2009 06:15 AM

I don't get why everyone hates on his ego. I love him more for it. If you have been put down constantly and people consistently hating on your work/material then you'd have somewhat of an ego when you finally make it. I know I would.

jacklovezhimself 09-03-2009 09:20 PM

I'm glad he's actually been doing some decent verses on a few songs. I hope he steps it up for his next album.

This is the only good thing Kanye has put out in a while and it comes in the form of a single verse.

BoRox 09-16-2009 02:48 PM

Kanye West is way too self involved, based on the MTV Video Award incident. Somehow, he thinks the world is about him.

get over it.
hes just outspoken.

86 Position 09-16-2009 06:51 PM

it's funny how there's all this hype over him doing some nonsense at the MTV awards. Yeah it was ignorant...sure.

Taylor Swift should be happy, all said and done. It might have hurt her feelings at the time, but now a whole lot more people know who she is. I'd never heard about her until Monday morning...and apparently she's sold more than 16 million off one album (?)

after Late Registration I lost interest

Grabbing a microphone of somebody and taking over the stage when you're not supposed to as well as ruining somebody's acceptance is not just outspoken... it's total douche behaviour.

Kirby 09-16-2009 07:57 PM

Everyone should let the whole Swift x KanYe debacle go.
He's called her, and apologized personally and everything. Neither of them are worried about it anymore.

Anyway, he's a very talented guy.

And to whoever said they hope he puts the autotune away, he only did that for one album.
He's said it multiple times, that he wanted to do a pop album (that was 808's) and the next album is going back to Hip-Hop/

there's a difference between having a ego and being a giant douchebag.
