Might as well just give it to Doom now and go to the next round.

Muahahahahahaha.

Vote unnecessary on this. DOOM by a landslide.
|
Love me some Lauryn Hill, but in an MC contest? Against MF DOOM? Come onnnnnnn. DOOM.
|
Safe to say this match-up could've been called "Drowning to death vs. Sex". Same results basically.
|
Wtf at these results. How many Grammys has DOOM won?

If Hill came close there'd be an absolute outrage. I couldn't expect anything else. I'm surprised there's anyone who'd vote Hill.
|
Alright, Lauryn's been moved over by MF and can now return to squeezing out more little Marley's and dodging more taxes.
Up next we have what I have creatively dubbed 'Battle of the bitches' |

Foxy Brown: The original bad girl of rap, Foxy Brown's promising career has been constantly hampered by her tendencies to get arrested.
Her first solo album after underground hype, Ill Na Na went platinum (coz I know how much you guys value record sales) leading to her joining forces with the likes of my boy Nas & AZ as the group known as 'The Firm' In 2001 she went through a slight altercation as she choose to become more 'street' and represent Brooklyn, following a change in hip-hop trends at the time. Jean Grae: Born in South Africa to jazz musicians, Jean Grae was a prominent figure on the much touted NY underground hip-hop scene. Starting from 2002, Grae realised a tirade of material including 7 studio albums and has collaborated with numerous big names in hip-hop from The Roots to Mos Def. Oh yeah, and you can buy her 'creative services' for $800 per 16 bars on Craigslist. Here's a video from each artist. |
Quote:
But this video is the worst! It makes her look like one of destiny's children. |
Haha, perhaps it was a way of showing bias.
I'm definitely way more into Jean Grae. She's a legit underground talent, Foxy's always screamed gimmick to me. Foxy Brown 1 Jean Grae 1 |

so on first impressions (based on the flow and the beat) Foxy blew me away. |
I've never really listened to much Foxy Brown as a solo artist, but she's had some really good guest spots with the likes of Nas and Talib.
She's got the best verse on this track. There's something about female MC's that when they rhyme well, I can really get behind. But then again, Jean Grae lent her voice to this track, and although she doesn't really spit a verse, it's one of my favourite tracks of all time, so I'm biased towards her as a result. |
Quote:
Not feeling either one as an MC. Foxy gets my vote because I always thought she was pretty hot. FOXY 2 Jean Grae 2 |
Jean's got major flow.
Ya, I'd rather put the dick into foxy but this is an MC battle, so fuk that ho Foxy. |

I gotta go with Jean Grae. Her lyricism beats the hell outta Foxy's. They both have decent flow, but I like Jean's mentality more.
|
[High.Q.] Immortal Technique - The Illest - YouTube Jean Grae. No disrespect to Foxxy, but she would get murdered if you threw her on tracks with most male rappers. Jean Grae can easily hold her own. |
I wouldn't say they'd either really get shown up by male rappers. Both are talented in their own right.
And there are many male rappers who couldn't hold a candle to Foxy and Jean. I just think Foxy falls into the same pitfalls as Lil Kim and more recently Minaj in that she plays to the stereotype of being a rap bitch instead of her own credible artist barring what gender they are. You wouldn't hear Jean rap about how she wants a man to provide her with diamonds and ****. |

By my count, Jean wins it.
Next tie is imminent. |
FAT JOE KOOL MOE DEE |
Fat Joe: The fat one that you love to hate, he grew up in the Bronx and along with long time accomplice Big Pun was a major figure in Latino Hip-Hop having been a member of the influential group DITC and Terror Squad.
In 1998 after a bunch of underground work, he signed with Atlantic releasing four albums before he began distributing on his own label. Joe's been releasing material for near on 20 years and even had time to fit in a beef with that phony wanksta 50 cent. Kool Moe Dee: The first rapper to appear at The Grammys. In the late 1970s, Kool Moe Dee formed the influential old school hip hop group the Treacherous Three. It was with The Treacherous Three in 1981 that Kool Moe Dee performed his freestyle onstage roast of old school party rapper Busy Bee Starski, a performance frequently cited as a pivotal moment in the development of the battle rap. He also released 5 solo albums between 86 and 94 and since sparked controversy with the release of his book; God on the mic stating his all time top 50 list of MC's. What he lacked in technique he made up on by being in the right place at the right time. |
Might have to abstain from this one. I hate Fat Joe and I know next to nothing about Kool Moe Dee.
|
Yeah... I'll vote for Kool as I hate Fat Joe.
|
he keeps right up with Pun in this track. both guys go hard.
Okay, he's been involved in his fair share of bad schemes, but dude had the potential to be great. I mean few rappers haven't fallen off at some point if they've had a career that's spanned the length of time Joe's has. As for KMD, he created this list. http://realhiphop4ever.ucoz.com/forum/5-2483-5 Might have to track down a copy of this book. His rankings interest me greatly. Unlike his MCing. Maybe just me, but I find this guy pretty uninteresting. Fat Joe: 1 KMD: 1 |
