Like the song, but the new one that has come out is much better in my opinion.

I think the other one is also better than the one before last.

I love mackelmore, he brightens my drive to college up if he comes on the radio. Such catchy, happy songs. Honestly never fails to make me sing along.

Not really a wordsmith but his rhyme scheme is not boring and better then a lot of other people coming up. Don't really like his flow but in my opinion his song writing, topics/material is amazing. the topics he hits are well to the point and tackle different areas from politics to everyday life.

Keeping it short he's not my favorite but I think he is a talented song writer.

I don't know what its trivializing though. Homosexuality?

Well could we have a Mod merge these? I don't know if this should be a stand-alone thread.

Basically, but the whole realising that you're different is a huge part of the experience of being queer, not just coming out. It's not something he gets but is appropriating anyway as if he knows the struggle, but he doesn't.

I don't really see it that way. If you're still just talking about the lyrics previously discussed, then I took them to suggest how easily misunderstood the concept of homosexuality is by the general populace (as evidenced by a child thinking they were gay because they liked to draw).

Furthermore, I think it was to highlight that its still looked down upon by the general population and that what it means to be a "***got" - in the minds of the low-minded - is both derogatory, effeminate, and severely misunderstood.

I assume this because in the following lines he's talking about how its used in Youtube comments when its probably not relevant to the discussion in the first place.
