S/o for Joey Bada$$

Joey Bada$$ (feat. CJ Fly) - Hardknock (prod. Lewis Parker) (Official Video) - YouTube

What so dope about Joey Bada$$ is that u can feel the beat and the lyrics like old school stuff but it's happening right now.

He's cool. Never quite understood the mega hype surrounding him though.

I think he's hyped because hes heavily influenced by the roots of hip hop and hes real. People are really focused on real and fake, like me... he reminds me of kicking it, getting chiefy and spitting with bros. He also looks at life in a rational way which strikes a chord with large audience and his style is something people can relate to.

There are some KILLER songs on his mixtape. World Domination, Hardknock, Survival Tactics, Snakes, Suspect, where its at, fromdatomb, and daily routine.

But for some reason the mixtape started by the two worst songs on the mixtape, with the most boring rapping and beats. I neally turned it off for gods sake.

Well in all fairness Summer Knights is a pretty standard short starter track for a rap recording and I don't think Waves is bad at all. But yes, pretty much every single one of the songs you named is seriously good.

Anytime someone comes out and has a sort of 90s feel to their rap style then hip hop heads will cream themselves over them. They are always yearning for that golden age.

Yes. I think people need to let it evolve, we will never be able to get that true feeling back.
