I'm glad that Kendrick did this. It's like a wake up call to other rappers. Step your game up and take the title!
|
Okay so far we have responses from Joel Ortiz, Joe Buddens, Lupe Fiasco and Cassidy.
Papoose destroys them all those. Here is his response. Papoose's verse near bottom of article Joey "wack ass" Buddens Lupe Fiasco Cassidy |
but all of those guys are irrelevant. Papoose had to plead with Kendrick to have a few minutes of his stage time at Summer Jam, that's how out the loop he is.
None of these guys were even mentioned by K.Dot in the diss because their current stature in hip-hop is meaningless. |

Joell Ortiz and Joe Buddens are in Slaughterhouse!! They are far from irrelevant. Papoose has always had a strong foothold in underground hip hop for New York. Cassidy hasn't had anything mainstream in awhile so I get that but he's probably the best punchline rapper out. |
Quote:
Cassidy has good punch lines but i think Celph Titled is the bet punch line rapper :p |
Im sorry but Lupe is wayyyyy better than Kendrick, sorry. Lupe was never a commercial rapper but that doesnt mean he sucks.

Great for hip hop...Well needed!

If you wanted to name his pop album that would be Lasers. |
oh this is true, from what i heard of it. and i agree with the Cool breakdown there, though intellectual pop is still pop to me, and it's oftentimes the best music because it has hook appeal, clean sound, AND intellect (i.e. SMiLE). I need to listen to that again (the Cool i mean).

Lupe was pretty commercial with certain songs like kick push, Super start and hiphop saved my life. Played on radio all the time in NY. then ofcourse lasers...
|
Lupe is mainstream as hell. Don't even front realtalk92.
Sure he has deeper intellegical tracks but because of that he doesn't do too well with some of his songs but he has earned mainstream success especially having his videos on MTV and BET. |
Quote:
Joe Budden is FAR from wack. The Mood Muzik series speaks for it self. I thought Pap and Cassidys responses were cool. Lupe's were decent. Im a big Lupe fan so I expected more. I want more responses though! |
Quote:
I saw him performance live at the beginning of the summer with his wack ass. All he did was perform three songs and guess what one of them was? Pump it Up come on now. Also you'll get more responses over time. Meek Mill already talked about making his response. |
So hype, verse was ok, message to inspire others was cool, and he really dissed the people he didnt mention more than the ones he did. Though why no mention of any TDE artists?
|
didn't read can someone just sum down what he said that's so shocking ..???
|

So every rapper that has heard it if they are competitive in nature will have already written a respond back to what his verse. There are way more than I posted but it's a lot of really underground people that only a few would know if you listen to the mixtape circuit. |
DJC, you're gonna hate me, but I like Joe Budden's solo stuff more than Slaughterhouse's stuff. His "Mood Muzik 4" is better than anything they've released as a collective. For me, I like Joe's honesty and he rarely comes with a wack verse after 2004.
|
I think Lupe had the best response i been bumping that soooo much

The one I posted was SLR 3 I believe. Here is SLR 2 if you haven't heard it. Yes, that's right he gave him TWO responses. Quote:
|
Kendrick's verse was not that good in my opinion, but he did have balls to bring all of them up.

I'm a big Lupe fan and I think he slayed on both tracks SLR 2 is my fave though.
|
joe budden went HARRRRD on his response track not even necessarily at kendrick. heard specific disses to joey badass and asap rocky with were funny to me. lots of good lines in his control diss

i think ive heard enoug of asap though to know i dont put him on the same level as joe budden or kendrick though. i dont think budden is whack at all, dude is real good and has been under rated for years |
Quote:
I hate budden yo, everything about that dude. One he's from Dirty Jers, Two his lame ass came to my city and only performed three songs while chilling in the VIP section all night and Three he made Pump It Up. Four he's the weakest link in Slaughterhouse. I know that group has some strong heavy hitters but he's nowhere near anyone else's level imo. Don't act like you forgot this! |
i think Joey badass Summer Knights is his worst release even tho its still good. i think 1999 was better and his tape with pro era was waaaay better in my opinion

ROFL, second response from Cass. He hints near the end that there is definitely more to come from him. I love his punchlines he needs to keep this up. |

This was short lived, i don't think people are talking about it as much anymore.
I heard it mentioned in the Macklemore interview on The Breakfast club a couple of days ago, but I haven't heard much more. How about everyone else? |
Quote:
Also do you not see the Cassidy response I just posted and he seems to be gearing up to release more. |
I guess I meant short-lived as in the hype about it isn't as big anymore!

WELL THEY AREN'T BEING QUICK ENOUGH.
Is ASAP Rocky the rapper who's always yelling? I know Meek Mills does, but I thought there were two that did that. If it is, then I don't care about his response. Whoops. ;P |
