welp it might be that i just have bad taste. this is highly possible, and would not surprise me. however, I like a couple of good things so I think that voids that hypothesis at least slightly. if that is a possibility.
I think thugger, though he is an extremely ridiculous personality and represents a frivolous portion of rap (post-Wayne drugs n pun specialty), he does this exceedingly well. He can slide onto almost any beat and sound comfortable (there's "Olde English", "YRN", and "Stoner") and his lyrics, being about very dumb things or relying on silly non-sequitur and association, are still pretty clever. If you can bear just how silly they are. I mean, it's all really fun and games when you're listening to him, but I don't think that means he's got any less talent, just that he directs it toward things that are frivolous, which I understand if that's annoying.
But yeah, especially for his flow, he has that rare gift like Gucci Mane (you'll probably disagree with me here too) to make whole verses catchy with his melodic cadence. Everything becomes a hook, and the hooks become subconscious anchors.
