I would agree Pac's production wasn't that great. Should have hooked up with Dre a lot earlier really. If Dre did an album for him like he did for Snoop that would've been 5*

Most of the 2Pac stuff I like is cos of what he's saying though, even if the beats aren't as polished or the rhymes aren't as tight.

Doom is already a legend imo

Production is not everything in terms of music. For me, there has to be some type of message in the music or meaningfulness which Yeezus lacks.

Because Pac and Biggie are dead and times have changed.

Interesting article that covers this subject- Who Is Hip-Hop

i guess i'm gonna have to give yeezus a serious listen. to be fair i haven't really looked into it much since ive never really taken to kanye in general. i mean i don't dislike his music but it was always sort of so-so to me. my twisted dark fantasy was the closest he came to making me like him and i really only liked a few songs on there and mostly for the beats and featured rappers.

but all that aside i think you guys sort of brush 2pac aside too easily. he was probably one of the most dedicated artists to ever do it... listening to his last 3 albums is like listening to him literally going over the edge at an increasing speed, flirting with his own demise.

i disagree with you cause you're dismissing jay based on what coulda woulda shoulda been if biggie was still around.. there's no telling and it doesn't even matter. what happened happened and jay-z made a huge impact on hip hop.

i disagree with goofle for saying kanye is a better artist than 2pac

Thats not the only reason why I think Jay is overrated but I also believe if those other two rappers were still alive he wouldn't be as popular.

How has he made a big impact on Hip Hop musically?

You don't have to DO anything. He's known world wide and associated with the industry. He doesn't have to contribute, innovate, invent.. He makes music that sells and is a powerhouse businessman, it doesn't really matter if he improved rap music, his name sells.

Kinda like how Dr. Oz is probably not the greatest doctor the world has ever seen.. but guess what? He made a name for himself and will be considered more relevant/significant to the general populous. That's just how it works.

**** Dr. Oz though, let's hope he loses his fan base in the near future.

But his brand really has nothing to do with Hip Hop specifically.

He is not using his brand to enhance hip hop.
