Eminem's best song

Hello guys, eminem is my favourite artist and I do think he has made a lot of great songs during his career.
So my preferite one is for sure Infinite, made when he actually was unknown, and in which is concentrated hiphop, ill lyrics and sick flow.
Then I'd say Rock Bottom. Great story behind, amazing contents and words that talk the truth, a lot of meaningful sentences.
Then I could say other stuff like stan, role model, no apologies, mockingbird and so on.
I do like him not only because of his skill, voice and ability with words, but also because he surfaced from the poverty where he was and now he has quite everything, he is where every single artist would be.
What do you think about it?
Tell me about your favourite songs by him.

Bestol 07-03-2015 07:34 PM

Lose yourself. that's surely the best one

DwnWthVwls 07-03-2015 09:15 PM

Not his best song but I love working out to this song, love the beat:

Eminem - Cinderella Man

Not sure if I have a favorite track.

I'd go with White America

I always hated fleminem, and I always hated rap, well, what is referred to as rap. Back in the day it was referred to as rap, but now it's called hip-hop. Hip-hop is basically the equivalent of eighties glam-rock. I call hip-hop glam-rap. At least old-school rappers generally talked about something more socially relevant than the size of their dicks and how many bitches they've laid - I'd rather listen to NWA, Da Lench Mob, Public Enemy, Rage Against The Machine, Cypress Hill, System of a Down - those are some bands you can get some knowledge from.

To get the terminology straight: Rap is a term used to describe the specific type of vocal technique, hip-hop is used to describe the whole subculture and both terms are used to describe the musical genre as well. So there's that.

I haven't listened to an Eminem song for over ten years, so I have no idea what he's up to lately, but his songs were far from the bitches and cars lyrics you seem to dislike so much. Plus one doesn't have to like him, I don't think I'd have much fun listening to him nowadays, but he is certainly a very skilled rapper with a great flow and very good at writing humorous and complex lyrics.

I'm also pretty sure, although someone who listens to lyrics more closely might correct me, that some of the artists you mention as examples of good rap have enough mindless hedonistic lyrics. (And SOAD are just a weird choice for an example.)

E5I5O 07-05-2015 10:42 AM

He is skilled to some extent in what he does, but lately, he seems to be going back and forth - trying to do something new with the initial ability that gained him so much success in the first place. It actually sounds like he's trying too hard. It almost pains me to listen to the guy lately. He's intelligent, talented, innovative and imaginative. Sometime I just wish he would break away from the very thing that made him successful in the first place. There's nothing wrong with reinventing oneself.

I am big fan of Eminem. He is the one and only person who doesn't care the world that’s why he make the song lose your self.:hphones:

DwnWthVwls 07-08-2015 09:19 AM

I wish more musicians didn't care the world.

I like Kill You, but I haven't gotten as into Em as I'd like to.

versus95 08-02-2015 08:10 AM

Sorry guys but I've been abroad for a month. Anyways, we can say em have been through 3 or more phases. Actually at first he really was amazing - I'm referring to Infinite, stuff like role model and rock bottom - phase in which you could feel the hiphop: in the beat, in the contents and feelings... We can say when he wasn't so known.
Then he became best-known and he changed themes, but he still was great imho, too much flow, too much originality and so on. I'd also like to mention songs in which he really put his whole heart, how to forget stuff like mocking bird, when I'm gone, Hailie's song? I can still feel a thrill when I listen to these songs, and I've forsure passed 100 replies each.
Now I don't know, I still like him, he made great songs like fine line, and detroit vs everybody but I hate this kind of rock beats he always uses.
Ultimately my best songs by him are: infinite, mockingbird, rock bottom, when I'm gone, stan, no apologies, sing for the moment, remember me, under the influence, legacy and others.

He's had many stellar moments but I'll go with "Stan" because artistically it's his most unsettling."

Justthefacts 09-13-2015 04:49 PM

Fack

Crudivore 09-20-2015 10:46 PM

I don't know what the **** you are on but it's making you look incredibly ****ing stupid. Carry on if you like, but it seems no one gives a ****, and why should they when you have made 20 consecutive posts detailing stupidity in its raw form?

Lucem Ferre 09-20-2015 11:01 PM

I'm 95% sure he's on meth.

Stan. Without a doubt. The story-telling on that record is amazing. 2nd best story-telling hip-hop record only behind Immortal Technique's "Dance With The Devil"

bombompow 09-24-2015 02:02 AM

monster, a new style

Project Passionfruit 09-25-2015 10:41 AM

Infinite is infinite

infinite (1996). this track really is infinite. what an amazing rhyme schedule and great flow. it's made before the Eminem show but still his best track in my opinion. great artist.

My 1st Single could easily be one of the worst.

Pripodobny 09-29-2015 12:21 PM

I think the best one is Lose Yourself

Elena77 09-29-2015 04:44 PM

Eminem tnx you

In my opinion, one of the best rap artists of today is Eminem, the history of its development in the music and take off in his life, not only surprises and fascinates and motivates those actions for which you have long hesitated. Pun in his verses can be traced very colorful with excellent speed of the material, which is deeply thought out and has a very large semantic message. I believe that the opening of the artist of our time..:ar_15s:

"Stan" gets my vote. It's set up so brilliantly. Many other songs from MMLP could work as the answer as well.

Orinoco95 10-09-2015 08:02 AM
