Since Billy Woods wasn't on the list I voted Ice Cube,

On a comprehensive list of rappers I'd probably vote Jay Electronica.

Rakim, Guru, Kane, KRS.... I think Nas and Cube are the only two here who woukd make my top ten but still wouldn't be close to a number one spot. For me the most influential and important emcee of all time will always be Rakim, without a doubt, his impact is endless.

I guess Kendrick is the new fad but people seem to forget Eminem is a better rapper technically even if he's not really relevant or putting out the best stuff anymore

Too bad about Eminem's music being boring though. At least Kendrick's doing something interesting (with TPAB, at least).

^ that. That best technical rappers don't always make the best music. Look how many battle rappers have made bad albums.

Technically, Eminem is amazing. He makes shhit music though.

Agreed, even though I think Em has made some pretty impressive stuff with his early releases.

This is always what I say when people feel the need to bring up Hopsin in a hip-hop conversation. The dude can rap, but he either has to rely on some lame hip-hop cliche or just bore me to death on his tracks.

Talent doesn't necessarily guarantee good music.
