Yeah I suppose, whatever floats your boat I suppose.

I think with Budden it's just I personally relate immensely to most of the situations that he talks about. Loss of a father, loss of a friend, depression, drug addiction. And maybe it's just because that I discovered him whilst I was going through some of these episodes so his content stuck out to me more, like in a weird ongoing nostalgic way, I dunno.
And even though he's just expressing himself, to me at least he's kinda like the voice of my emotions too, like he's able to say stuff that I keep bottled, so in that way listening to him is sorta like my own kinda outlet. And it's really cool having been a listener for years to be growing up along side him, as he seems to be maturing in character which is influencing his music, ie. accepting happiness in his personal life, making amends with his parents, that kinda thing.

And even though I sound like a massive preachy douche bag in all these posts, I do realise that Budden isn't the only person who creates this kinda music, for a brief example Slug is another of my favourite artists (and I've had the pleasure of meeting him) but I just think that Budden does it a little bit better than most.
