illmatic is such a classic, i agree.

not too sure when and where i started listening to Nas but one christmas i asked for all the albums and listened to them over and over. i was a Nas stan before a jay stan ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To be honest I like both, I don't really discriminate when it comes to music. As long as it's not just pointless yelling off beat, I'll give it a listen. There's also beauty in simplicity. One thing is for sure though, illmatic is a classic.
