10 ft. Ganja Plant
Time for me to recommend another band that no one will listen to! The name alone is worth the admission price. They alternate between Dub and Reggae and hail from Hawaii. I like them and you should too.

R U sure about your facts about them being from hawaii? 10ft. GP is actually a side project of some of the members of John Brown's Body who are from Boston via Ithaca, NY, my home town
My Space=liars lol.
I know Das' right!
Recommend John Brown's Body at all?
F**k Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't find any :(
Yeah, unfortunately that seems 2b a problem sometimes
I am exploring their discography backwards and each release gets better and better. Their Roots Reggae and dub influences are perfectly complimented by the natural Horn work. 'Midnight Landing' is one of the most 'pure' Reggae albums I have heard in a while:
^no sound from that video. :(
Really long intro and the sound quality is not all that, but its a great example of the JBB live experience

Great band, and probably my favorite Dub band name ever.
10 ft. ganja plant kills. JBB is just masterminds with their music. is there a JBB thread?
^ You could always start one? I'd never heard of JBB before I popped back in this forum for old time's sake, so if someone who knows them got a thread going that'd be swell.
I do know that 10ft Ganja Plant are immense though. Midnight Landing's a killer album - I really should get 'round to listening to it again sometime. |
Was recommended John Brown's Body and 10 ft. Ganja Plant at the same time.... good shiitt
I really like this. Its nice to see a band like this posted in this forum. The whole 3rd wave Punk/Ska thing gets old after a while, I would love to see more bands like this that go back to the roots of reggae and ska.
The name alone is awesome.
Never heard of them but really liked the song. I'll give them a listen. |

Pretty cool, I'll look for Midnight Landing.
I'm pretty sure that Nick Hexum of 311 is the guest vocalist on Your Voice

Sorry to revive this thread, but I don't usually like reggae and this band is amazing. They make me want to buy one of those Accugroove 21" woofer cabs and play bass through it with the highs all the way off.
great band, i just got Bass Chalice, Hillside Airstrip, and Midnight Landing. i've just started on them, but so far i'm loving it. the smooth basslines, soulful guitar and relaxing beats, along with the vocals on some of their songs.
Great, great band and most of their albums are wrote and recorded in a few days. Completely organic.
Yea they sound like reggae.
Good stuff. Hope you guys weren't surprised... I mean.. seriously... |

I still haven't got round to listening to their new effort yet. I definitely should though, what with Midnight Landing being the shizz and all.
It's good. A little lighter and rootsier than there previous efforts, but it's growing on me. If you need an up then holler.
