Thumbs up John Browns Body

one of my all time favorite bands. super sick dub riffs! and they kill it live! i always thought to myself, how will their music sound the same live. dubbed out? and they didn't dissappoint. they have a sound engineer right there hooking it up!

what do you think of JBB now that kevin kinsella's not part of the band? elliot is a dope front man but i liked kevin's laid back and happy tunes.

my favorite tracks:

33 revolution
isle of springs
tree of life
ambrosia
satisfaction feeling

check out their website. once i hit 15 posts i'll post a link. if you like 10 ft. ganja plant you'd love them. their newer stuff is heavy dub and electronica and really experimental. the newest one is amplify and re-amplify. but all the older albums are classic!

Well I have finally managed to track an album down; the latest 'Amplify' and I'm dissapointed I have to say. Some of the horn work is OK but it just sounds like white boy Reggae Give me the bass heavy dub of 10ft Ganja Plant anyday.

I agree jackhammer. I'm not a big fan of amplify either. That album was after kevin kinsella split with the band. Its a little bit differwnt style. I was dissapoimted myself when he left and seeing them live then and now. Still a big fan though. Easy star records put out awesome stuff. Check out these albums, hopefully they won't dissapoint:

All time****
Among them*******
This day**************
Spirits all around us*******

Starred for my most favorite.

JBB is nice. I do get a little tired of them if I listen too long or too much. But if you spread out your listening they are definitely great musicians and a great band.

Kevin Kinsella just played 3 shows on a tour with JBB for the first time in 3 years...I about vomited when I found out that I missed it, especially since they don't frequent the West Coast too often. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come, though!!
