I can find Greatest Hits compilations but I'm looking for studio albums. A shame this isn't easy to find really.

3k post. Badman ting.

Discogs is a great place to find rare vinyl at great prices, however you're basically buying them sight unseen. I've never had any problems with it, though.
Here are all the listings for Dennis Brown's first album. It looks like the cheapest one that includes both the vinyl and the cover, as well as being in reasonable condition, is for about twenty dollars. However, keep in mind that it (and most of the records in this listing) is a reissue, and not an original pressing:

Here are some that should be original pressings, which are obviously much more expensive:

Cheers for this lads. Is it basically impossible to get them on mp3 then?

You and Jackhammer should start hitting this thread up again for sure. This thread along with a few others is the reason I joined MB. I found alot of gems from both your recs and also re-discovered alot of music I had on the backburner. Its a great thread.

I agree, I listen to reggae, soul/disco & folk pretty much more than anything else. So anything to get this forum hopping again would be a plus.

As for Dennis Brown, all his stuff is available on MP3 you just have to know where to go... Wish I could help, cheers.

I'd be up for updating this, but I won't do a thing to it without Jackhammer though. Jackhammer, if you're still using this forum and feel like reviving this thread, my PM inbox is open :pimp:

I did some digging, and many old Reggae albums have been reissued as CD's. Places like Discogs, Ebay, Amazon, I-Tunes, etc., should have the CD's pop in from time to time, and maybe even each individual song available for downloading as an mp3. Another method is to buy the music on vinyl, and then convert it to a digital format, which is very easy to do if you have a turntable that has an RCA or USB cable attached to it.

For example, here's Dennis Brown's first album reissued as a CD on Discogs:

http://www.discogs.com/sell/release/2195683?ev=rb

And here's a collection of some of his songs from the 70's on Amazon, available as individual mp3's:

Good luck!
