Riley did a cover of Marvin G*ye's Sexual Healing in the early Eighties which blew me away. I'll post it on the 100 Songs thread if I can upload it to YouTube.

His son, Tarrus, isn't bad either.

I can't get enough of Lovers Rock.

Bob Marley definitely introduced me when I was real little, I remember jamming to Stir It Up and No Woman No Cry in my backyard barbecues when I was like 5 haha. It always stuck with me and as I grew up I explored more artists in the genre and still stands as my favorite musical stylee.

The first time I ever really listened to Reggae was back when Saints Row 2 came out. Had a lot of great songs, like Barrington Levy's "Here I Come" and Chaka Demus and Pliers' "Murder She Wrote".

Been trying to get Dennis Brown's stuff recently but cannot find this **** anywhere, even legally. Where do you lot get it?

I can find Greatest Hits compilations but I'm looking for studio albums. A shame this isn't easy to find really.

3k post. Badman ting.

Honestly, I can't even remember where I got that album. It's the same for a lot of albums I picked up from about 2007 onwards.

If you want a bit of help finding Stagecoach Showcase, drop me a PM sometime and I'll see if I can help you out finding it :)

I bought my copy from a record store in Laguna Beach in the late 90's. Its usually only available via Ebay.

Wish I had mine on hard copy, sounds like a bit of a gem really. You got it on vinyl? Would you say it was as rare back then as it is now?

I'm just listening to it again now, it's really solid stuff. Almost puts me in the mood to start updating this thread again :p:

I had been looking for a copy since 89. It is one of the rarest finds on vinyl. That copy on ebay for 19.99 is a steal. I listen to it on occassion. I've been going back through my reggae stuff and I find it never loses its ability to brighten my day. I find that reggae above all music has a certain charm that other genres just can't touch.

You and Jackhammer should start hitting this thread up again for sure. This thread along with a few others is the reason I joined MB. I found alot of gems from both your recs and also re-discovered alot of music I had on the backburner. Its a great thread.

Yeah, definitely. And you know what, I just couldn't put my finger on why that is if someone paid me to. Everywhere I go I always make sure I've got at least 4 or 5 reggae and/or dub albums on my phone - it just simply goes with every day for me too. It's like it breaks the law of diminishing returns or something.

I'll think about it ;) Hell, I've had the spare time lately, so it's doable. If Jackhammer still posts here and he's up for continuing this sometime, I'll certainly have another crack at this at least.
