I'm looking for some artists similar to Buju Banton, perhaps.

And add anymore dancehall, if you don't mind :p:

I am not that much into Dancehall but you may want to check out Seeed (From your country!), Richie Spice, Alpha Blondy and Collie Buddz.

Digging Mungo's HiFi recently. If you can't groove to this then you have no soul.

The French band La Fanfa are really doing it for me ATM, a little bit of funk finding it's way in which is fine by me. The horns really make this track.

Sublime and similar bands

Sublime to me is one of the greatest bands of all time. I'm looking for a modern band that has similar sound/talent.

Also I want to hear opinions about sublime in general.

SplAdamb 09-07-2012 12:56 PM

Dub Guerilla is some good stuff, thanks for the link...

Yeah they were interesting until everyone started buying Sublime t-shirts and bragged about how they smoke reefer while jamming to them. The peak of my interest really dragged on from there. Plus, silly posers only listen to Sublime's "hits" rather than download or buy their albums. That's a huge pet-peeve of mine

Vietnam - Jimmy Cliff my favorit song ;)

Recommend me some Reggae albums

I don't know much about Reggae but I have listened to Exodus and Kaya and really like them both.

Can anyone recommend me some Reggae albums that are must listens and essential for anyone discovring Reggae? I'm talking the Illmatics and Highway 61's of Reggae if that makes sense.

Thank you.

hi..

Hello Everyone.. It is my pleasure to be part in this forum.. I wanted to share some artist I've known. He's got cool song...

New Age Empire is an evolution of Respect and Power Records and Dice Music. Comprising artists Chris, Young Don, G-Eyez, and the latest addition, Tara Starring, as well as manager Manley Michael J. New Age Empire makes music that is fresh and contemporary, but at the same time very real and honest. Over the next few years, the team is hoping to sign as a subsidiary to a major label in order to become household name. In the meantime, they’ll continue doing what they do best–making great music. Look for Chris’s “Chief’s Town” in November 2012 followed by Young Don’s “Position of Power” and “Chasing History” by G-Eyez in 2013.

Does anyone know some good ska-punk/reggae-rock bands? I am making a Spotify playlist, but need some more stuff to fill it with :)

Perman00bJr 02-10-2013 05:30 PM

I'd recommend Streetlight Manifesto. These guys pretty much make up a fourth of my phone's music. New user here. Will link song when I reach 15 posts.

Shaolin 02-23-2013 06:37 PM

Hepcat is a must for a Ska listener.

Their classic song is Dance Wid Me.

Psychedub Dude 02-28-2013 10:37 PM

Anybody who digs reggae should deff check out 77 Jefferson, they rock.

Also Skillinjah and Josh Heinrichs are insanely good, needs more attention
