it depends - was the sleep big spliff induced?

My first reggae album was Marley "Legend" and since then I have collected a ton of roots reggae. I love all of the old school stuff but I detest the dancehall crap that passes for reggae now. Sean Paul and the like aren't even remotely reggae - just crap.

Yeah I totally agree about Sean Paul and co. They're quite fun to listen to the odd time when you're deprived of real music but certainly not reggae.

I've been collecting records for many years now and I cannot tell for sure which one was my first reggae record. I think it was the Rat in me Kitchen record that was slipped into my really expensive Eagles Live album. I got ****ed with that one. The UB40 record was knackered, so I smashed it to bits in frustration.
The first reggae album I remember buying was Marley's "live".

Last one I bought is Scientist Rids the World of the Evil Curse of the Vampires, by the way.
I'm very proud of that :)
