Who is your favorite 80's Metal group?

Mine of course Iron Maiden.

boo boo 10-02-2005 12:32 PM

I always thought Black Sabbath were horrible in the 80s, i voted for Metallica.

sleepy jack 10-02-2005 03:03 PM

Maiden.

riseagainstrocks 10-02-2005 03:32 PM

I voted Slayer, mainly because I've never fully gotten into Maiden, or Judas Priest.
I didn't mind And Justice For All but Slayer still did it better for me and Pantera only really got their stuff sorted around 1990. Pity. I love Pantera.

adidasss 10-02-2005 04:44 PM

i vote iron maiden...i LOVE THEM!!!!

Fire_Starter 10-02-2005 07:10 PM

too difficult to choose >.< but iron maiden....

beardovstars 10-02-2005 11:28 PM

sabbath are the metal blueprint for me.

Kempson 10-03-2005 07:43 AM

I'm actually ashamed of you guys that I was the only person so far to vote Pantera. None of the other bands even come close to Pantera.

Metallica_rox 10-03-2005 10:28 AM

im the only person to vote 4 metallica, is it me or is there something deeply wrong with that? metallica only having 1 vote, wats the world coming to? lol

Er...yeah they do.

Also, Pantera were good in the 80's but better in the 90's. If the theread had maybe said "early 90's included" then I woulda voted for them also. But it doesn't. So I didn't.

Dam MetallicA the best ever especially in 80's i know the NeW MetallicA Sux but they are not too bad to MetallicA Kings of 80's and 90's MetaL and no body can opposed to that
thats all---------------------------------------------------------------

tinkerbell 10-05-2005 05:02 AM

No anthrax fans?!?! They are an amazing band. Really good live.
But not as great as black sabbath. Never get tired of them.

Scarlett O'Hara 10-05-2005 05:41 AM

Iron Maiden for sure, then Judas Priest!

judas_priest 10-09-2005 03:15 PM

This is really hard- Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Sabbath and Pantera are all amongst my fave bands. If I really had to choose though, it would probably be Maiden...

zium 10-09-2005 10:47 PM

iron maiden, helloween and metallica

Merkaba 10-10-2005 01:40 AM

^ It's good, this is one of the few polls I've seen with a decent judgement and variety on choices.

Urban Hat€monger ? 10-11-2005 04:05 PM

Right lets go through the list....

Iron Maiden - Good for the first 6 years
Judas Priest - Most of my favourite of theirs was in the 70s
Black Sabbath - Crap in the 80s
Slayer - Solid during the 80s , don`t think their stuff since is up to much
Twisted Sister - Good fun , but nothing really long lasting
Anthrax - Could give or take them , Spreading The Disease , Among The Living , Persistence Of Time & the Public Enemy stuff was good but I hated everything else
Quiet Riot - Their best songs were covers , mind you I wouldn`t mind hearing the 2 albums they put out in Japan in the late 70s when Randy Rhodes was in the band
Pantera - Never really warmed to them
Metallica - I liked their first 3 albums but i`ve never thought they were anything special
Poison - No , just no.

On the basis of 80s material i`d say it`s between Maiden & Slayer.
I`ll go for Maiden.

adidasss 10-11-2005 05:04 PM

me too!

Urban Hat€monger ? 10-11-2005 05:05 PM

it certainly could be depending on how you look at it MI. should tell you a bit about me, eventhough it's not typical of what's been offered up so far. seems ya'll have the metal bands of the eighties down fairly well. although i would suggest you check the option for sabbath. they got started the decade prior.

Drunken Pirate 10-12-2005 04:52 PM

**** i can't decide, i love pantera, maiden, sabbath, judus priest, metallica.

judas_priest 10-22-2005 05:11 PM

lol- yeah, that's the same with me.

letbobrest 10-23-2005 06:28 AM

for some reason iv always hated black sabbath and iv never REALLY liked iron maiden either. I gave metallica my vote

deadkennedysmeetstheclash 10-23-2005 10:03 AM

I love Bruce ****inson- Maiden and I like Anthrax, well some of their stuff. Sabbath are amazing but there more 70's than 80's, Ozzy was off doing his solo career which IMo wasn't bad. Twisted sister are really more like a glam band really (I;m seeing them soon, there supporting Alice Cooper) and I;ve always hated Metallica. And i;ve never really liked Pantera, and Poison are a hair metal band. So maiden win..

the point is they were around in the 80's and still very popular amongst metalheads.

Chronic 10-24-2005 08:13 AM

Only bad out of those I like are Pantera, and even then only their 90's stuff, partiuclarly Vulgar & Cowboys

Hawker920 10-25-2005 03:13 PM

Definately Iron Maiden. Anyways, what does AC/DC come under?

Ginny 10-25-2005 08:15 PM

They aren't metal, but I have currently grown obsessed with 38 Special.

Hold on loosely, but don't let gooooo!
Geeze. Songs about masturbating rock!

The Lizard King 10-26-2005 12:59 PM

Well since Ozzy got kicked outta Sabbath in 79' I will have to go with Pantera.
