well, that's another thing actually, i've really grown to like all of the songs i've downloaded and if they change them severely ( like the kings of leon did with talihina sky and california dreaming ) i will be seriously dissapointed and royaly pissed.....off.......i'm still getting it though....if only so i can have the songs on hard copy......still.......

They're from my hometown, Sheffield, and obviously Im pleased that they've done so well, good luck to them, at the moment Sheffield seems to be a hot bed for upcoming bands, and that makes me proud BUT ... I dont really see the mass attraction with the monkeys, sure they're OK, they aren't crap, and they obviously appeal to a huge amount of people hence the fact they rocketed to number one, but I just dont find them THAT good, they arent a band id pay to go and see live, they are a number of bands around at the moment creating very much the same sound and falling below the radar.

Alot of fuss about nothing ???

at the end of the day its all about personal opinion isnt it. they arent going to appeal to everyone, but converesly they seem to appeal to ALOT of people. and that makes me happy.

i just downloaded it ( couldn't wait for the amazon package to arrive ) and it's awsome, thank god almighty they didn't change the old songs, only production wise ( and instead of "the band aren't very good" " the band were fuckin wank".....*pauses* aaaaahahahahahahahahaha....wank.....*gets serious*)
the new songs are very good, fit with the older ones perfect, the drums and bass = tight as fuck!
i suspect i will be listening to this and only this for a couple of weeks, it seriously rocks....then i'll probly get sick of it and never listen to it again....

i can't believe shanda got to see them.....she's been to like 2 concerts in her life, and the arctic monkeys are one of them......lucky bitch....

I was going to get the album the other day, but I steered myself away from it thinking it is all just a phase, another thing hyped up by the media to the point where it could never match up to expectations. I still might get it, but I'm undecided. I've heard a lot of good things, but have also heard an equal amount of bad things.

actually i just saw the scummy/when the sun goes down...and i really didn't like what they did production wise....i love that raw, unperfected sound that they had, much like the subways...well i'll prolly still like the album i guess....but still...whine

The backlash starts here.

Such an amazing album, but having gone to the NME Awards Tour last night I can honestly say THE BAND ARE F*CKING WA*K, and if it wasn't for Maximo Park and We Are Scientists, I would'nt have had a particularly nice time. See, these other bands seemed to have decided to NOT class the shows as some kind of rehearsal, encouraged crowd participation, didn't stand there like a spare dild* slinging a bass, said more than "Aw'right, this song 'eres called Sex Machine", showed some kind of uniqueness on stage.

Let's just hope th'monkeys were watching from the side of the stage rather than getting an early start on their "Doherty Phase"
