I don't know...their rhythms were great but hardly groundbreaking enough to consider them "different and weird". If anything, they were grunge-ified Black Sabbath. Not that I don't like them, though. I love em.

I thought they were quite innovative in the late 80's when they operated in the same pre-sludge,grunge, stoner metal primordial swamp alongside the Melvins, and produced the mighty "Louder Than Love".

sadly I have only listened to their singles and not their albums

whatever album has spoonman and blackhole sun would be my fave

Superunknown also has "Limo Wreck", and "Ty Cobb" I believe, and both are personal favorites.
