I've just noticed that I hadn't voted, so I opted for Ginger Baker. With the Baker Gurvitz Army, he played the drums as a lead instrument and is memorable (at least to me). Having said this, I always liked the way Keith Moon's playing followed Roger Daltrey's voice with The Who.

Good drummers on the poll, but I voted Bonham. I suppose Peart would be second.

Pretty much was my point. I think he did what was wanted from him.

I voted for Bonham. I'm glad he's currently at second place, at least.

He is definately among the best of the best. Ulrich's style seems a little more intense than Bonham's slower and sluggish approach to his stlye. Really two completely different drummers all around.

just because this is the internet, and my opinion doesn't matter, i'm gonna go ahead and say that lars ulrich has no place in this thread. perhaps if the title were "influential drummers" and had nothing to do with skill, sure. the guy is not very good at all.

i can't really comprehend why Buddy Rich isn't part of this poll. that guy could learn to do with one hand in a single night what it would take years for most drummers to learn with two hands. he was to drumming what nikola tesla was to electricity.

Same reason everybody from Art Blakey to Cyro Baptista isn't part of it: it's in the rock & metal forum.
