Agreed, hes very good, especially live, and i love the drums on Hot For Teacher, though i was disapointed to discover that Alex used overdubbing.

Its not like he cant nail it live.

Splicing is used a lot when musicians dont want to do too many takes and they use splicing just to get it over with, it dosent always mean they can't actually play it.

Take Comfortably Numb for example, Gilmour's solos were spliced... But anyone who has heard him play live knows very damn well he can play the solo perfectly, note for note. Though apparantly he had trouble playing it at the time of the recording, which is why they spliced different solo takes together in order to make them sound good.

Sounding good is all that matters anyway.

Perhaps Dream Theater should give Bob Ezrin a call.

Compared to some of Patton's other work, Faith No More is pretty damn normal.

Ezrin*

He was the main producer for The Wall and some other Pink Floyd albums, he has worked with several artists, including KISS, Lou Reed, Peter Gabriel, Alice Cooper, Janes Addiction and Nine Inch Nails.

Im basically saying that hes one of the best producers around, maybe he can use his studio magic to do wonders with Dream Theater and make them sound good.

Hey you never know, miracles can happen.

Agreed...Mr. Bungal (was that the name?) was pretty out there. But maybe I've only listened to tame music my whole life. Who knows.

Interesting. This is my one thing I've learned today....even though it is disappointing. I'll still enjoy the music when I listen to it every now and again.

Dave Lombardo is good because he actually got me to admit that a member of Slayer had talent. Also Brann Dailor of Mastodon is awesome, probably my second favorite, but the best is Bonhom, he was the force that drove the hammer of the Gods.
