So many drummers I have not heard of, aside from the usual classic rock crowd.... perhaps some explanation would be good if people choose slightly more obscure drummers.... just to help ignorant folk like me...

Brann Dailor's a good drummer. I don't know about the best but I think he's a mentionable drummer.

People always flip out over Peart. But I still think Bonham is the best because he is more versatile. Zeppelin played a lot of different styles of music and Bonahm always adapted well. Rush is all about the driving beat and Peart throwing in a million fills. Dont get me wrong Peart is a badass but I feel like he is a bit limited.

Vinnie Colaiuta is awesome he should be on the list.

Peart? Limited? No versatility? Are we talking about the same Neil Peart? Possibly the most versitile percussionist to ever play in the genre of rock music. It's not just in his fills either, Peart's accents and subtle styling within even the most simple of rhythm is what sets him apart.

In the end you can like whomever you wish. All i'm saying is, next time you listen to Rush, listen closely.

Well it seems plenty think otherwise since this board has been. having quite a discussion about it!

I know he turned on. us and becamea big time pop sellout.... but what do people think of Phil Collins in his Genesis hey day... basically from Nursery Cryme through to Duke...
