Arcade Fire - :) (as in I agree!)

Radiohead - Mildly :), Mildly :( (as in I'm halfway there!)

With that in mind, I actually would say that both suck... In proportion to how much hype they're given.

I'd like to throw Best Coast into the ring. I much preferred her work with Pocahaunted; it was far more cerebral than the gimmicky lo-fi pop aping she's doing right now.

has the title of this trhead been changed? Anyway. The Fall are not ****. Period.

I love how The Beatles are so obviously good it's cliche to like them. I feel no shame. I love them.

Maybe Janszoon would disagree with you there. ;)

**** this band

DevonWilliams 10-20-2010 04:58 PM

Radiohead and Coldplay refered to as ****ty bands? It's like when a band hits mainstream, douchebags who think they know everything about music stop liking them.

LoathsomePete 10-20-2010 05:31 PM

... or just never liked them in the first place.

Anyhow for the people who dislike The Beatles, I want to see if your reasons run parallel with mine.

Way back in the day when I was a fresh faced 14-year old my dad got that Beatles 1 CD and told me that I should listen to it because he thought I would really like it. Now my dad had already been right about Pink Floyd and Tool so I listened to it and it just didn't click with me. I didn't like the songs, the lyrics, the instrumentation, or the production. Fair enough thought my dad, at least I gave it a try. Well fast forward a few months to when I discovered my first Internet forum (Taborama) and there was a Beatles thread. I posted my findings in a professional and respectful manner as to not offend anyone and was met by either waves of criticism or people telling me to listen to their own special mixes, many of which contained the songs I had already tried and didn't like. Before then I just didn't like The Beatles, but after being told that I had misinterpreted my own opinion, a mere dislike turned into full on hatred. So in conclusion, fuck The Beatles.

Really now. Don't let other people influence your feelings toward them. If you don't click with a group that's fine. I don't click with Radiohead very much. I just can't feel their stuff. But I can certainly see why people laud them. I've taken flack for that but I just can't let annoying fans do injustice to a group of talented musicians who don't deserve outright hatred.

Coldplay's always sucked and while Radiohead doesn't suck they're not that great either
