Yeah, I would love that the only problem is bands from my generation don't sing about things that affect me, the lyrics are usually pointless, and if it's modern metal you can't even tell what they are screaming at you, usually poor me or **** everything, music is a joke nowadays, listening to old dylan songs like blowin in the wind and such, the lyrics of those songs still affect me much more than any of this modern ****, just read my sig. all 3 of those songs have great meaningful lyrics, and soundgarden is somewhat of my generatgion although i was only like 8 when that song came out.

This is the kind of rose tinted looking at the past that I expect from classic rock bores like yourself.Everything was great back then when REAL rock bands ruled the world. It doesn`t matter that Led Zeppelin were just some blues stealing c0ck rock band or that AC/DC have made a living out of the same song for 30 years.

Don`t get me wrong there were some great songs at that time , I just don`t need to be reminded that they were great songs so much so long after they came out.I`d much rather hear someone raving about something new and original than saying how great Bohemian Rhapsody or Stairway to Heaven for the billionth time.

AC/DC is not my favorite, their lyrics are really plain and sort of retarded really. I am talking of bands like Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, CSN, Buffalo Springfield, CCR, The Stones, The who, they all sang about real life subjects and they did it in a civilized manner, they didnt just say f this and f that and f society and everybody, bla bla bla, they had real meaninful lyrics and they had talented musicians, something that you have to search high and low nowadays to find. I'm sorry but I relate to older music like that much better than music now, not to mention back then songs had more than an 8 second opening and often featured a guitar solo, which is appealing to me as I play lead guitar in a band and I tend to favor music that features interesting riffs and solos, not just strictly rythym guitar with a 4 second solo section.

But where are the interesting bands of the time?

If you love the music of the time so much where are the bands that were doing something different that was influencial to music today.Your list is just the same old tired bands.

Where is the likes of Big Star , 13th Floor Elevators , Bowie , Funkadelic , Capt Beefheart , Soft Machine , Chapter 3 , The Creation , Television , Joy Division , The Groundhogs , Love , Frank Zappa , Hawkwind , Can , The Yardbirds , Roxy Music ....I could go on & on & on.

Are you kidding me to say that those bands i listed werent doing something different that was influential to music today? Name another led zeppelin of the time, or another pink floyd, or another the who... That is a dumb statement, they were totally unique and doing their own thing, nowadays I will hear a song and not even know for sure who the hell it is becuase so many bands sound the same and all copy each other.

Way to miss the point totally.

I`ll ask again shall i?

If you are a fan of the time period why are you only interested in a handful of bands that get mentioned over & over again.
Or are you too busy masturbating over your copy of Led Zeppelin II to notice there were other good bands around at the time that very rarely get played every 5 minutes on crappy FM stations.

Did you really need me to mention my whole list of bands I'm interested in for about the 20th time on this forum? I rarely ever hear the grateful dead or phish played on the radio, or king crimson orthe kinks or days of the new or depeche mode or ELP or Frank Zappa or Funkadelic or robert johnson or john lee hooker or muddy waters or steely dan or ry cooder or syd barrett or the velvet underground or the youngbloods, or many others that i don't feel i need to mention to make a point. As a whole, I prefer older music than newer, just a personal preference, but one that nobody feels they can allow me to have for some reason. Please leave me alone now, you are ****ing up my thread...
