John Squire on the full length version of the Stone Roses I Am The Ressurrection.

Because it`s cool , it`s funky & there`s no sense of wanking whatsoever & fits the song perfectly.

claudioismybitch, totally in agreement! Mr Zakk Wylde must have heard that long solo some good couple of times!
I'll go with Crushing Day, by Joe Satriani. Flawless one: its melody, its speed, its intensity. I think that's a perfect solo!
Tornado of Souls, by Marty F. (Megadeth): one of a mind-blowing calibre.
Stressfest, by Steve Morse. Sublime solo!

That's one of the greatest bumps I have ever seen. Anyway...

Ranks up there, though it might not be THE best.

I wouldn't call it a face melting solo but the solo by Nightwish's Emppu Vuorinen in Creek Mary's Blood is a beauty.

The whole song has to be listened to though to fully feel it. Gives me goosebumps every time.

There's way to much solos out there.. These are the ones i've been thinking of right now

Atm i can think of Cream(Eric clapton) - Crossroads
I'll never get tired of listening to this one

I guess Steve howe's Mood for a day is a solo too

Deep purple Child in time (Ritchie)(There are so many awesome solos from Deep purple, Ritchie, Jon Lord and Ian paice)

Michael Shrieve's drum solo on Soul sacrifice at woodstock was totally amazing

Jimi Hendrix Machine gun Band of gypsys

And i think one day both Erci clapton's solo on Layla and Steve Hackett's Horizon will make me cry

Agreed, although my ATF solo by *anybody* is this version of "The Bash". It starts quietly at about the 40 second mark, then build and builds and BUILDS, then just when it builds to EPIC it hits another gear and blows the whole thing away.
