Maybe that's just because they were playing smaller venues earlier on? I've seen him live twice (once with Primus, once with Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains) and both times he seemed fine to me. Though I never saw him back in the earlier days so I guess I have to basis of comparison.

Well, I did, obviously.

Maybe, but there is still a way to handle a larger crowd and he doesn't seem nearly as excited to be there anymore (par for the course, of course).

It could also just be that the dude's not in his 20s anymore.

I can kind of see where Les would creep you out a bit now, especially. Did anyone see him in Bonnaroo a few years back when Oysterhead played? The suit jacket / pig mask / long hair combo was unsettling, yet glorious.

Frizzle Fry is my favorite Primus album so I can't wait to hear the new one if it really is a return to that era's sound...

Primus is amazing. Saw and met Les Claypool when he did a solo show around here a couple years back. I went to shake his hand and he made a fist to do the pound it and said "potato". Was a great moment for me. Grew up on them, was always a fan.

"Frizzle Fry" is a great record.
