Funny thing is that most of the bands people "love to hate"...are also the ones with the most fans. Namely Nickelback, Creed, or Godsmack :P

Creed - Though Mark Tremonti is a great player, GOD-ROCK JUNK!!

Nickleback- Glad to see a Canadian band doing so well, but hate them totally.

Bon Jovi- And I hate them even more because they're really good at what they do. Jon's got a great rock-voice, Ritchie is awesome, and their stuff is annoyingly catchy.

I can't stand Bon Jovi. I think of them as the musical equivalent of a 50 year old man with a keen interest in trains.

the obvious ones are nickelback, creed, hoobastank, 30 seconds from mars, theory of a dead man, puddle of mudd, good charlotte, panic at the disco, etc.

i'll add - jack johnson, less than jake, crush luther, rise against, ill scarlett, planet smashers, and more

one song i really love to hate is What I Got by Sublime, a song that every frat boy and skater/surfer wannabe skank will sing along with drunken and proud that they know all the lyrics. i bet you bradley turns in his grave every time that happens, sublime has OTHER songs! every one of which is 10x better than that overplayed party tune.
