I've never heard of Hinder or Saving Abel and I honestly can't think of a single song by Nickelback but I do know what Three Doors Down sound like and that's definitely not what I look for in my music.

I think Chiodos are a really good band with a lot of good ideas. Probably one of the more original bands in that 'scene.'

Bands I love to hate... er... I don't really hate many bands, but on another forum I like to remind people how average Opeth are just because they were knobs.

But really I don't mind Opeth that much. I just don't think they're that special or interesting.

For the record, I like CoF, Dimmu and Lacuna Coil. I don't love them, but they've all made at least a few outstanding songs. I won't begin to speak for why other people hate them, but there's definitely a group who hates them because they aren't metal enough.

This thread reminded me that I need to listen to Cold Heritage. What a beautiful song.

I like a little black metal, but sometimes it's hard to look past the ridiculous face paint and whatnot and just appreciate the music. In the case of Cradle of Filth, the combination of silly makeup and outfits with terrible music makes them a prime target for ridicule.
