What would we do without Rock Music

What do you think we would do if Chuck Berry never invented rock and roll in 1955. I know there are other kinds of music to listen to but the thought of not having rock music just kills me because I basically am a rocker.

If you guys hadn't ever found out about Rock Music than what do you think you would do in your Music lives? :hphones:

under 05-01-2006 09:58 PM

I personally would probably try to find out about a really cool type of music that everyone would want to listen to.

sleepy jack 05-01-2006 09:58 PM

Aww, bless you HIM.
I'd listen to rap.

Thank you but as you are a Moderator could you please stay on topic because I really like this topic and I wanna see what people have to say.

TheBig3 05-01-2006 10:03 PM

He said he'd listen to rap.

And to paraphrase Voltare, if there wasn't "rock and roll" there would still exist the need to create it.

under 05-01-2006 10:03 PM

Oh i didnt see that before sorry and that's true someone would wanna create it eventually.

boo boo 05-01-2006 10:04 PM

I like music.

I also like pringles.

TheBig3 05-01-2006 10:06 PM

Right now if rock music hadn't been invented, than I would just start appreciating another type of music and stick to that.:)

It's hard to make a valuable contribution to a rather pointless thread.

Music is great, but the answers to this question is pretty obvious, life without music would suck ass, now, whats left to discuss?... You tell me.

bungalow 05-01-2006 10:10 PM

Haha, HIM, you are the greatest, Don't ever quit posting man.

under 05-01-2006 10:11 PM

If you don't like this topic than just stop posting on it because we don't need people messing up this thread.

So if you want to talk about what would happen than stay here but if you would rather cuss and not have fun at all than I would recommend that you don't post on my thread.

I'd imagine.

But rock was birthed from several genres, i think if other genres like the blues and jazz exsisted, rock n roll would be born eventually.

bungalow 05-01-2006 10:13 PM

Oh sh*t! I forgot, you are the kid who hates cursing
That makes me love you even more!

If there were no rock, I would deal, and listen to polka.

I was just joking around, take it easy, your title mislead me, it suggests something different than the actual topic, you should change it so folks wont get confused.

Replace music with rock.

But yeh, it's all good.

under 05-01-2006 10:15 PM

That's true because people would eventually want to listen to a different type of music and that's exactly what would happen.

For example, one person could have like one rock song that they would always listen to, than alot of people would start to listen to that song, than there will be all tons of kinds of rock songs, than it will travel around the world and everyone would be infected with the LOVE OF ROCK.

Laces Out Dan! 05-01-2006 10:33 PM

Well do tell you the truth...If certain things werent invented...we wouldnt miss them...mostly because its physically impossible...So i guess where im going is that if certain things werent invented i doubt that would change anything...music would progress in a completely different way

You have got a really good and strong point.

Well then we wouldn't be able to share our experiences to becoming rockers.

MURDER JUNKIE 05-01-2006 11:15 PM

I would probably channel my Canadian heritage and listen to moose calls http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...p/badteeth.gif

Ytse Jam 05-01-2006 11:54 PM

I would've paid more attention in school instead of listening to my headphones. I could've gone to University and made something of myself if it wasnt for Rock... damn you rock!

fenderjazzforever 05-02-2006 06:28 AM

i like music, but if you go around telling people your a rocker, your not.

Doc.DGAF 05-02-2006 07:57 AM

Without rock, I'd just bump more rap and probly some jazz.

Yet another excelent insight from a Canadian homie-eh! I'll have to throw in my lot with the forum drunk. I'd probly be beatin' raw hide drums, playin' a flute, and kickin' a nutty dance in leather while passing the peace pipe!

Awww, does your pussy hurt?

jr. 05-02-2006 08:31 AM

Why all the negative energy?

If rock had never been invented, we'd be left with what was there before rock, wouldn't we?

Jazz, Big Band, Blues, Classical, etc. Still plenty to choose from, and suff I listen to more than rock, anyway.

Personally, I'd go the route of Native American flute. It's very peaceful, and, if you let it, will lay right on your chest and seep into you.

Can you play?

bruise_violet 05-02-2006 01:29 PM

I would invent rock if it didn't exist.

I really couldn't as I have about as much musical talent as a rusty spoon, but I guess that peoples lives would be very different. We would probably have no 'revolutions', just look what happened in the 60's, and that culture was based around music.

hiu 05-02-2006 01:59 PM

I would be a good thing. I wouldn't have to hear Miles Davis go into the realm of jazz fusion.

ArmyofMe 05-02-2006 03:32 PM

If Chuck Berry didn't invent rock then it would have prolly been invented by some old bluesy folk guy. So it really doesn't matter, there were so many styles that were leading to it that it would have been created quickly after.

But, to stay on topic, I would prolly listen to something bluegrassy or some type of African-American based music with a good beat (rap without the rock influence)

tdoc210 05-02-2006 04:47 PM

umm this question is redundent......yeah..umm id probably be doing the same thing i am right now..only yeah...w/o rock music

Though rap has it's roots in some rock music, if it could exist even without the influence of rock n roll, it would still be different, me thinks.

No, but I have been toying with the idea of purchasing a Native American flute. The only trouble is, they are expensive. A good, hand made cedar flute can be well over 200.00. There are synthetic ones that can be purchased for much, much less. I just don't think something as personal as that can be substituted, though.

mosesandtherubberducky 05-02-2006 08:04 PM

I'd invent rock 'n' roll but in the form that it was ment to be...not like HIM

boo boo 05-02-2006 08:35 PM

I got a bass today. =D

You could start over, and not invent all the crappy bands.

Well I would've done it.

Not at all! I've tried the synthetic ones, their crapulishious. But if you're yet to learn, get a hardwood single. Redwood or oak, it'd be like learning the acoustic guitar first. After that you can play anything, it's harder to start from the bottom.

godisyourfriend 05-06-2006 11:05 AM
