The most evil little guy in rock and roll. I love Rainbow, he and Ritchie were great together. 'On Stage' has been a much-loved lp since my early teens.
'Mob Rules' and 'Heaven and Hell' are great Sabbath albums. The Ozzy purists always slag the lineup, but it was a great band.

In my own opinion, Black Sabbath was better when RJD was in it. Now, don't get me wrong, Ozzy is awesome, but I just think it was at its best with Dio.

Is that Joan Jett or Vinnie Vincent on the left?

Jeez I hated Twisted Sister. They represent all that I dislike about metal.

He's probably one of the most ridiculous lyricists of all time, but he's a great singer. Holy Diver, Heaven and Hell, Long Live Rock 'n Roll, Rainbow Rising... all full of straight-up excellent metal.

He is perfectly ripe to have the piss taken out of him, but I will always have a soft spot for the little elf due to nostalgia.

Dio

Does anyone else agree/think that Dio lost it after the first two albums? I was absolutely blown away by "Holy Diver", and just getting back to my feet when "The last in line" bitchslapped me back down, so I expected "Sacred heart" to be another piledriver and it, well, wasn't. I mean, don't get me wrong, their were some good tracks ("Just another day", "Rock and roll children", the title track), but it just was not the powerhouse its predecessors had been.
Then came "Dream evil", and it just got worse. I think the only track on that I enjoyed was "All the fools sailed away". I left Dio to their own devices for a while then, and recently picked up where I had left off. With the exception of the superb "Killing the dragon", I was REALLY disappointed that Dio had failed so badly to realise the enormous potential shown in tracks like "Don't talk to strangers", "Rainbow in the dark", "Egypt" and "I speed at night". I mean, "Angry machines" was just awful!
Anyone else feel this way, or am I alone? Or do I just not get it? I liked RJD in Rainbow, and Black Sabbath, so I know what he's capable of. What I want to know is, what went wrong?

I have'nt heard anything after Dream Evil. Holy Diver is of course a fantastic album http://www.musicbanter.com/general-m...-thread-5.html but both Sacred Heart and Last In Line did nothing for me. Strangely enough I thought that Dream Evil was a return to form the only song I don't like is 'All The Fools Sailed Away' lol

Lost it?

You obviously haven't heard "Magica", their concept album from 2000 which is a kick-ass album.

Check out this song, Eriel, from the same album. It's not a music video, so feel free to ignore the random imagery.
