Hahaha

I feel so stupid when people ask me if I have heard of some hugely famous band and I say "no", but then it's OK because I realise they are shit...

most new mainstream bands are **** and thats all they pretty play on tv/radio so your not missing anything really. Now its the stuff that you can only find the interent and from your friends that know about a lot of underground music that you need.. that msuic is probally the best out there.. what gets signed to be companies normaly fades into mainstream hell until there not even the same band..

My daddy and riot grrrl-loving uncle are who influence me and tell me about music, I have very few friends who like the same music as me, which pisses me off because I have no one to talk to!

yea i know what you mean. But are there no newer bands that you like? I'm big into classic rock/metal aswell and i still managed to find some newer bands that i enjoy just as much or more some times.

Well, I don't know what bands are bad or good. I'm simply ignorant of them. I know that I like a lot of what my daughter listens to. Green Day, Bowling For Soup, Panic at the Disco, Hawthorne Heights, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan. Stuff like that. She's 11, and already has the music bug. I mean, I couldn't tell you the names of the songs, but they don't annoy me as much as some of her other stuff.

She knows what cds to bring if we're going out somewhere, and which ones I don't like. Music is a cool thing we share. It's funny, though, how she'll really like a song from one of those Disney movies, and her eyes get real big when I start singing along, because, even though it's new to her, the song is really 25 years old. LOL.

I'll tell you what, that song 'Stacy's Mom' is one of the coolest songs I've heard ever wafting down the hall from her room.

I'm proud to say that when I was an 11 year old girl I was listening to post-grunge and classic rock.
