I highly doubt he'll check out anything we suggest put I guess its worth a shot.

The Fall Of Troy
Circle Takes The Square (screamo)
Thrice (post-hardcore)
Thursday (post-hardcore)
Trophy Scars (emo/post-hardcore)

Basically, if you dismiss these bands off as garbage, then you really need to open your mind.
The bands your posting are good yes.. and i'm sure you agree or you wouldn't have posted them. But ethan he's a classic rock fan, and a big one at that as we can all see.. why you post bands that have big large ass jumps from rock n' roll music to screamo and hardcore? if his ears love classic rock music why don't you try posting links to rock bands and then as time goes on getting him into otehr bands.. I can't see a classic rock fan just jumping in to those types of bands if all there really interested in is classic rock. Its one step at a time.. you can't be held all the time then be expected to run.

1. I don't listen to any bands that sound like classic rock bands.
2. They're all sick bands so even if he doesn't like it, it still proves their some good modern rock out there.
3. I bet you he'll like F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X. by the fall of troy.

I can understand how someone from the younger generation can be very excited about Zep and the like. It's like new music that catches your ear. Very exciting to find something 'new' you enjoy. Even if it's 30 years old, it's new to someone just discovering it.

Heck, when I discovered Big Band, I went nuts. LOL. And that stuff was 60 years old. But it was new to me, so I was excited about it. I'd always had a peripheral ear when it came to that genre, hearing bits and pieces here and there. When I started persuing it, preto, brand new music. LOL.

As far as classic rock, it's just like any other genre. Listen to enough of it, and you get bored. Start looking for alternatives. There's always going to be someone discovering classic rock, and being hyped up about it.

and agreed there. I go so long just listening to classic rock then i'll ease my way into other types of music and then go back to classic rock.. always got to keep it mixed up.. i lover so many bands i don't want to get sick of any of them and i was very sick of Zeppelin and Priest there for a while but thanks to the way i go about mixing things up now.. i haven't been sick of any bands.

I have Zepplin's box set, with everything except for The Song Remains the Same. I haven't listened to it for a year I bet. Maybe I'll get out Houses of the Holy and check it out. When you leave something alone for a while, it can be fresh again. I didn't listen to KISS for almost 10 years.
