Alice Cooper or Kiss, who had better shows?
 

who do you think had the better shows, Kiss had the paint, pyro, unique costumes, Alice Cooper had the showy efects, the dark look to him and his shows, so Who is the better band to see at there live shows?

Because he could get rid of all that stuff and STILL put on a great show because he was a great songwriter who experimented with his music as well as his stage show.

i agree, Kiss was ok, not good enough, Alice Cooper is an amazing song writer and he puts on the better show

i gotta say cooper. the fire and blood from kiss was cool, but alice cooper had the cooler effects and ripped apart a chicken.

Kiss just had good pyro and such, but Cooper did a bunch of weird stuff, cooper>kiss.

Very Clever tdoc. Yeah Alice Cooper didn't think every time you wanted crowd responce you should say something that objectifed women.

I think Kiss has one or two good songs, but the 4 combined were no Alice Cooper.

I'll be brave and daring and say BOTH kicked butt, but heh, everyone should know by now Kiss won't get respect here!

Personally I prefer Kiss' live show to Alice Cooper!

Alice Cooper = more of a play type concert.
Kiss = More fun

Alice Cooper = more talent, writing, and sound wise
Kiss = less talent, and more make-up.

both bands aren't into for the actual music, and more so for the fun of how they can go about mixing music with threater type styles.

But i can't see a actual music lover being into either of these bands.. more so if they look for real talent.

Are you actually trying to say that it wasn't shocking to Kiss' fans/followers when they actually decided to take their makeup off?

I mean, that was nearly as big a "change"/surprise as Metallica when they cut their hair, for God's sakes...lol!!!

As far as I'm concerned, they are both great classic rock bands with their own unique differences in sound.That's the reason why I include both of them (along with Metallica) in my enormous album collection.

Alice Cooper was a better songwriter, better vocalist, better everything. He was entertaining and somewhat talented. He's one of my favorites. Hands down.

And Poison and Bed of Nails are two of my favorite songs ever.

and for me they're both winners but then again I like to keep an open mind about things and what not

I think I've pretty much heard it all his songs.. and there nothing great or anything, and over done..

Ex, I have got to seriously...seriously disagree with you on this one.

Granted, KISS was pretty basic. But Alice Cooper's band was one over the most over looked, talented group of musicians ever assembled. They simply had the misfortune of being behind Alice Cooper.

Pick up any of his stuff from the late 60's to mid 70s or so. Killers, Love It To Death, Billion Dollars Babies. Brilliant.

Oh i Know alot of Alice Cooper stuff, I used to secretly be a big fan.. But I dunno after a while....

I'm going ot see Alice Cooper in less than a month!

I vote for Alice Cooper, I preferred his vocals.

Actually one of the biggest myths surrounding Alice Cooper was that he fired the rest of the band to go solo.

What actually happened was after the Billion Dollar Babies tour was a lot of the band wanted to do solo albums , but Alice was convinced they should carry on as they were.They recorded another album togther (Muscle Of Love) but the band were so burnt out it wasn`t all that good and they decided to take a break from it. Alice`s solo album (Welcome To My Nightmare) was really the only album that made it off the ground and was a huge success.After that he just carried on doing his thing & the rest of the band did theirs. 3 of the band released an album called Battle Axe under the band name The Billion Dollar Babies in 1977 with a singer called Mike Marconi but it did badly and they split shortly afterwards.
So they wern`t fired , the band just sort of drifted apart. Apparently they`re all still good friends with each other. Alice got onstage and played a few songs with them a few years back.

The thing with Kiss though, is that you could have the option of using any of 4 singers either together or separately on each song.Obviously Gene and Paul did most of the singing, but even the option of 2 talented singers doing their part to give each song its own voice is better than just one singer (Alice Cooper) trying to make his own changes to every single song he wrote, ya know?Kiss and Alice Cooper are both great though; the only difference is that Alice always sounds the same, while Kiss has a unique sound for all of their songs.

Ok... Let's get this straight. Before Cooper there was nothing! You had the Beatles, but everything was hippy love or pop rock! ALICE IS the Prince of Darkness! Kiss who? Please!

Kiss are so overated, and their guitaring is crap!! Kiss covered Cooper's 'School out for summer', *ahem* ruined it. Cooper has such 'in your face' vocals, and he's lyrically underated, his songs are quite clever. If anyone has a car, please drive down a motorway to Alice's 'Poison' and tell me how it feels!
