I have a question for you, do you respect lead singers who don't play an instrument?

For some lead singers their voice is their instrument, it seems to me your problem is with the mainstream music in the 80's but you don't seem to be taking into account all the different musical movements that happened underground in the 80's

It would be like me saying the 70's sucked cause it was the disco era.

80s pop ruined music. I blame today's garbage because of it. It makes me sick to my stomach. As for Heart it was an example. A damn good one. I guess it all depends what genre you're into and what you grew up to but the way the thread is displayed collectively the 80s is the worst. By far.

Don't know why he's so against 80s pop music when his favourite band King Crimson spent most of that decade writing 2nd rate Talking Heads albums.

Disco only lasted 3 years. Hip hop/rap/garbage still exists today because of the 80s. It's subject to opinion but a fact is that genre of music hold no artistic talent at all. If you disagree with me you're delusional.

It's weird that there's been so much great music in the past 35 years if the 80s ruined music.

If you think rapping is easy, I recommend that you try it sometime. I have it on good authority that it's quite tricky to rock a rhyme that's right on time.

Who cares about artistic talent when the music is fantastic?

The reverse must also be true, or else your beloved Beefheart would have no fans.
