Why? the 80s had great music, The Smiths, The Cure, The Flaming Lips, Talking Heads, The Stone Roses, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Tom Waits, Dinosaur Jr., Violent Femmes, Pixies and so on

The present has tons of great music too. Patrick Wolf, Bright Eyes, Beck, Radiohead, Death From Above 1979, Explosions in the Sky, Rilo Kiley, Spoon, Bright Red Paper, The Shins, Animal Collective, A Silver Mt. Zion, Arcade Fire, Okkervil River, Architecture in Helsinki, Broken Social Scene, Stars, 65daysofstatic, and so on.

Hmmm... How many of those bands were totally influenced by the music that was created in the 1960s. Almost all of those.

And most of those bands that you have listed crowquill will not be remembered in 10-20 years. Most of those bands suck... like really bad.

You're fuckin dumb. You cant base anything on influences from the past. Because clearly every type of music being played now has ties from older music. Its the way it happens, its impossible not to. And who cares if a band will be remember in 10-20 years..is that how the credibilty of a band is rated?

And how many of those bands from the 1960s were totally influenced by music before them? That argument is faulty as hell, if you're going by the decade that had the most influence you're going to have to keep going farther and farther back all the way to the roots of music.

1. If bands like the Ramones are remembered, all those bands will be.
2. Wrong.
3. How many of them have you actually heard?
