Muse VS Radiohead (pop, rock, doors, Muse, Aphex Twin)

Actually, Muse is a ripoff of Radiohead on a variety of fronts. (i.e. high pitched vocals often used by both bands that sound similar.)

In my mind, if a band was directly trying to be like Radiohead but decided to make themselves much more mainstresm (and a lot of money) then they would be Muse.

My belief is that comparisons ought to be restricted to like-for-like, otherwise they make no sense. Like comparing the Beatles to Beethoven or something. Or Public Enemy to Sonic Youth. Or whatever. Comparisons ought to capture and encompass some distinctive element shared by those being compared.

I think the music element is enough for me. Loads of people go 'you can't compare them, they're two different things' but if they're both musical artists i don't see whats stoping me saying which i prefer.

Suppose if it's JUST about personal preference, and nothing else, then you could compare any two things.

They don't even sound the same except for very very few songs. Not a really great comparison although you can find some similarities here and there.(similarities which doesn't even matter)
If ppl genuinely don't like muse because of the way they sound, fine with me. But hating them for reasons such as "copying vocal style" is just retarded.

Why can't we just enjoy both and live in peace?

Funny thing is, I particularly dislike the cries of rip-off for what I consider a good reason: if Muse sound the same as Radiohead, then what does that say about Radiohead? It's just plain insulting. Nah, they sound nothing alike, have entirely different aims, and Muse are an awful band.
