I hate these guys. The lead singer is awful.

Alright, Scars on Broadway released their debut album two days ago. I knew it was Daron's project but I had no idea that John was working on it too. And Shavo was working with Serj on his solo album. Is there some rift that split the band in two? Something's gotta be going on.

I already heard Serj's solo album, I really thought he could have brought more to it than he did. It was a huge departure from System: he was more melodic and less schismatic in vocal character. But to be honest, it was boring. There really weren't any oustanding compositions and much less head-banging metalheadedness. I want to see what Daron's album is gonna be like. I hope it's good. It probably won't be, but I hope it is.

SOAD is actually a band I like, I love the song "Chop Suey".

I think this hints to the very clear differences we have in taste. I actually expected Serj's album to be terrible but I found that when compared to SOAD its actually really damn good. Within the first 4 or so songs he's already covered every element of SOAD that didn't suck and added a likeable character to it. He actually got rid of the nu-metal fluff and focussed on what he's good at and it turned out somewhat enjoyable.

I thought the same way...

I thought that his solo album was better than all of SOAD's stuff, and I actually like their s/t, Toxicity, and the two later albums a bit.

I'll give it another spin. I haven't listened to it in a few months. Still, not promising anything, and I really want to compare it to Daron's album.
