I think you've answered your own question there.

I don't like LostProphets, i can understand why people do but they're not reaching out to me with anything special or different.

Rooftops is okay.

i think for me to gte into it its the kind of album im going to have to listen to every somg seperately to like it... if i play the whole thing it just all runs togetehr and it kind of bores me

Aye, thats probaly why I don't care for anything but rooftops.
They're kind of repetitive like that.

"Last Train Home" is ok in an anthemy, sing-along sort of way...everything else I've heard is just sorta meh.

i love the old lost prophets, i mean shinobi, kobrakai and fake sound are awesome and i was even into the start something album even though that was abit softer, i went to see them ages ago when start something first came out and it was a really good show but with the new album its just really pissed me off about them now, and its just not there music which has annoyed me about them its also their image now, which if anyone has seen an image of them from their early days compared to now, you'll just laff at them just looking scene and to be honest they just look like nubins.

Fake Sound of Progress - Good, still sounds kinda fresh. My most listened to album during college (alongside Incubus's Morning View). I still quite like it.

Start Something - Technically better, more polished production. A couple of gems but loads of skippable songs. Pretty much mainstream stuff although not too much on any particular bandwagon. Doesn't stand up to many repeated listens.

Liberation Transmission - I'm not even going near this one. The Rooftops has put me off as its just blatant emo bandwagon, pop stuff that just annoys me. Even the video is generic and pretty terrible.

My music taste has changed, but even if it hadn't I reckon I'd still hold the same opinion of them. The term sell-outs springs to mind although I don't like labelling bands with it.

Awful...Dullest band around...I hate Ian Watkins with a passion...He contridicts himself all the time. For example in one Kerrang interview he said

"People think were arrogant, but were not"

THEN

"I think that were one of the best bands in Britain"

Hmmm. Plus they have got bad dress sense and hair...

Imonlydancing 07-10-2006 05:28 AM

meh.
i don't like them much, i used to.
they had one massive hit with last train home, then went out of the light for a bit, now came back with rooftops and everyone loves them again, they're stilly poppy rock, just appeal to everyone now.
i read an interview and i think they said they wanted to appeal to alternative kids? when 10 year old preppy girls are buying their albums.
i spose what they do is 'in' now or something, like everyone loves AFI now.

The Ten Thousandth Fist 07-10-2006 11:55 AM

I don't love AFI. Lostprophets is okay... "Rooftops" is the only song that I find worth listening to off of Liberation Transmission though.
