I remember liking them a little back in elementary school. People just get more into particular, possibly lesser known, sub genre's as they get older and that's why they're more popular among the younger crowd.

I pretty much love them, I prefer Start Something to the other two.
Apparently, their new album is going to be darker and heavier...I'll be the judge of that.
Yeah, they rule for me. One of my favourite bands.
Though I do have to agree, they are on the verge of mainstream and that always puts me off for some reason.

This stuff sounds like a mix of Hoobastank and Halifax, so boring + boring is more than likely going to yield....... crap.

I don't know about your definition of mainstream (obviously) but I'd say that by most definitions they are and have been for years.

Why does it put you off that they verge on mainstream? I'm willing to bet that half the music you listen to is mainstream.

Mainstream isn't a genre, it's a status. A band becomes mainstream when they get signed to a major label and they write radio friendly songs. I wouldn't say LostProphets "verge" on mainstream...I would say they are and always have been mainstream.

I'd say my definition of mainstream is when everyone knows them, they're played constantly in the charts and are highly publicised.
Obviously in this genre they are, but overall I'd say they weren't.

I realise mainstream is a status, I have a different idea to it's definition than most people here do then.
I meant verge as in their songs are getting more well known and recognised.
I always assumed bands like My Chemical Romance and Greenday were mainstream, I always liked them beforehand.

I see that you live in the UK... Lostprophets have been backed by our major radio stations from the second album at the latest and they've been all over the front covers of our biggest-selling music magazines. They're absolutely huge.

Ohh I really like Lost Prophets !!!

I liked The fake sound of Progress-Loved Start Something but I have to admit I didn't like the last album at all.... Rooftops was the only ok song on the album.
