I saw Audioslave at lollapalooza a few years ago. Chris was chopping at his neck on stage to make his voice do that thing it does int he song "what you are" Amazing. After seeing that I couldn't deny him a spot on a list like this. |
I'm not including metal - if I did, Bruce D1ckinson would kill everyone else on the list. :D
* Freddie Mercury (Queen) * Ian Gillan (Deep Purple) * Mike Patton (Faith No More etc) * Layne Staley (Alice in Chains) * John Fogerty (CCR) * Brandon Boyd (Incubus) * Chris Cornell (Soundgarden etc.) * Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) * Brad Delp (Boston) * David Bowie * Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) * Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) * Bono (U2) * Axl Rose (Guns 'n' Roses) * Bradley Nowell (Sublime) * Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) * Jeff Buckley * Peter Gabriel (Genesis etc) * John Frusciante (RHCP... he's better than Kiedis) Ah, meh. Cornell has a great alternative voice. He's also probably one of the most talented singers of the 90's - today. I kept my list at 10, but I could add a load of other great singers.
|
^wrong
apparently you haven't been subjected to a live performance, the man is dreadful. Connie Chung > Chris Cornell |
I've seen a few taped shows. Sounds fine to me.

|
I cant stand the both of them

My top two are Maynard and Chris Cornell. I love them both.

What is with everyone saying Chris Cornell, he sounds like two cats in heat mating outside my bedroom window
|
I dont know if he sounds like that...but i super hate his voice
|
are ypu guys high?
of course its obviousley Jon Anderson |
Probably because Cornell is one of the best =)). If you don't think so, you obviously aren't that big on alternative music. I can't believe I forgot about Axl. He should be automatically included anyway.
