At the age of 15 I was quite the Bon Jovi fan.

Strangely, I had progressed from liking Guns and Roses, Blur, Green Day and Oasis when aged 12-14 to liking Bon Jovi. One big step backward really.

Until 12 it was Rolf Harris and Chas'n'Dave all the way. No BS. Also, lots and lots of classical music.

I'm glad to say I never liked Limp Bizkit, the Spice Girls or Britney Spears.

age 7: I can't remember
age 8: hanson, usher, backstreet boys, scar face, celine dion a lot of boy bands and madonna. And I discovered riot grrl music.
age 9: slayers (although i didn't like as much as i do now then)
age 11: anything I listen to now, I listened to when I was 11 as well. The exception being Britney Spears.
The Foo Fighter's first album was released July 5th 1995. I'm 18 and was born in late '88. You're 17 (according to your profile), so you could indeed have been 6 when their first album came out, however, I find it highly unlikely that you would call yourself a fan of them after only their first album and one of Grohl's first outings post-Nirvana.

As far as I go, pre-Middle School I didn't really listen to much music other than the Country that my Mom played in the radio. I got into punk (The Clash, The Damned, etc.) in 6th grade and by late 7th had moved onto the heavier and more violent sounds of Discharge and Flux Of Pink Indians. In 8th grade I was given a mix cd that had Forever Is Forgotten on it and I was enthralled. I grew into Metalcore with bands such as Undying and Coalesce all through 9th grade and gradually grew into Death/Black/Doom through time spent in the scene.

Now as a Senior in High School I listen to a lot of different kinds of music, from the post-rock of Isis and A Silver Mt. Zion to the brutal death metal of Origin and Decrepit Birth.

Age 8 - Deep Purple, The Beatles (Smoke on the Water & Eleanor Rigby being my first songs ever).

Age 9-12 - Cliff Richards, Classical (Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Handel, etc.), Indian music and more of Deep Purple and Beatles.

Age 12-14 - All of the above...and Iron Maiden. Greatest Heavy Metal band eva!!1!!

Age 14-16 - Discovered Megadeth and subsequently, thrash. Unlike many, I was pretty unusual in that I didn't really get into Metallica atfirst. Found them complicated.

Age 16 onwards - Power Metal!! and some Death/Thrash/Black Metal (Deicide, Amon Amarth, Sepultura, Kreator, Emperor, etc.)...But Power Metal is my favorite genre.

And believe the fact that I have never once strayed away from good taste in my life...my dad made sure of that.

I'm going through a softer phase at the moment, Bright Eyes, Nick Drake, Tim Buckley and Leonard Cohen are all getting alot of airplay. Last week it was grindcore with bands such as TAWFAWW, With Scissors, Whores Whores Whores and Rolo Tomassi.
