Neurosis are pretty damn awesome.

Managed to see them live in Berlin whilst I was on holiday (awesome coincidence!), hearing them play A Season in the Sky was amazing and seriously chilling....

Did they play "Stones from the Sky" by any chance? That is easily my favourite song by them and hearing it live would be an experience in and of itself.

That's the setlist. Admittedly I didn't recognise most of them, but it was awesome nonetheless. Not listened to A Sun That Never Sets properly yet, should probably get on that :P

Not a bad setlist at all. Ending with "Through the Silver in Blood" is awesome, next to A Sun That Never Sets it may be their best album.

Yeah, it was pretty awesome.

The only album I'm really that familiar with is The Eye of Every Storm. Listened to parts of Through Silver in Blood and bits and bobs of Times of Grace and Given to the Rising.

And yeah, it was an ace ending. They all brought out their own set of rack toms to play the intro :P

"Through Silver in Blood" is probably my fav album by the band and one of their essential releases, a personal fav though has to be the earlier "Souls at Zero" which saw the switch from their early style and the title track still blows me away.

I always think of Neurosis in this period as sounding like a thinking mans Slayer!

It's funny that you should mention that because Aaron Turner of ISIS has called post-metal "The thinking man's metal".

Arrogant but true.

As for Neurosis: Times of Grace is one of my favorite albums of all genres but I have a real affinity for Enemy of the Sun. I just recently put it back into my regular rotation and it hits the spot. Through Silver in Blood needs some more play too - I remember thinking of it as quintessential post metal at one point
