i said i thought atreyu sucked... and what do i get as a response? not, "well i think they dont suck" instead some kid tells me i suck weiner and another kid says the singer in my band that broke up has not come to puberty and calls a project i did lame when he has no musical talent or sense.

yeah, i got a little pissed.

Hmmm...While Peta does suck, I can understand how things got going off when you just said a band someone liked sucked. Just try saying "it's not my thing" or "i'm not a fan of them" even though we know you mean "they suck". It just puts things in a better perspective and every thread doesn't turn to a bitchfest.

OK, well I like them alot. the Curse was a fairly weak album, but Suicide Notes And Butterfly Kisses is something to judge hardcore bands in that vein of music against. Lyrics are awesome and Daniel Jacobs is a very compentant guitarist as is obvious from such tracks as Lip Gloss And Black, A Song for The Optomist, and A Vampire's Lament. the others are good too but those are standouts. I like them alot because I identified with alot of the lyrics. I went through a whole lot of girl trouble before meeting someone who cared for me back (i'm gonna get so much crap for saying that haha)

If your referring (however you spell it) to me than your wrong. David and I have pretty equal taste in music thats really all. He's as much at fault as you are lets just drop the whole thing. Come on, lets talk about music not get personal.

okay.. im turning over a new leaf.

i hate atreyu, i think they suck. this is why...

when the bands started it played a watered down mixture of newer hardcore and swedish influenced metal that is mediocre at best with lame and meaningless lyrics. the band was no better or worse than the 40 other bands just like them at the time. so i gave them a chance and bought a cd. i was bored in minutes. bad singing and screaming vocals and then the infamous "mosh" which was present in every song.
i didnt think it could get anymore subpar.. then out came this new release, terrible. their is not one drop of creativity in this cd. they might as well have listened to thursday, from autumn to ashes, poison the well, and skycamefalling and mixed it all together (which they probably did). last time i checked, ripping off bands that arent even that good in the first place doesnt make you better.

the band as a whole are not the worst musicians by any means but this music has absolutely nothing in it. its so plain and empty. and quite frankly there are at least 50 bands i can name off of the top of my head that deserve more recognition than this band.

so there are my reasons.

Well thats your opinion and thanks for laying it out. I'm drawn to them through their lyrics. I don't think there meaningless but I mean its all personal experiance.
