Rush was Progressive Rock starting with the release of 2112, and their last album that could be considered Prog would likely be either Grace Under Pressure or Power Windows. Their late 80s and early 90s material didn't contain very many Progressive elements. I haven't heard their 3 most recent albums. I'm not sure how anyone could say Hemispheres isn't Progressive Rock.

my boss asked one of my officemates to get this "metal guy James Durbin" on the phone (or his manager).

I thought he's belongs to one of those metal bands i don't know about. so my officemate went to google and searched for James Durbin and we found this...

Wow. I had no idea there were so many sub genres. Seems a bit excessive and unnecessary.

It's excessive, but not unnecessary. Once you become familiar with all the metal subgenres, they're an easy way tell what they sound like.

@poolguy....dont know about metal on acoustic guitar, but i have tried playing a few metallica song intros on my acoustic guitar :D
