Wow. I had no idea there were so many sub genres. Seems a bit excessive and unnecessary.

Metal has a very wide range of sounds from doom to thrash to death to black to pirate.
Yes pirate metal does exist!!

No I'm sorry, it's power metal but with lyrics of swords and sorcery swapped out for ships and wenches. If we start allowing genres to be born out of lyrics rather than musical stylings then our daughters will all be shagging communists by this time next year.

It exists. Listen to Alestorm, Verbal Deception and Wheels of Poseidon, they all sound different but are all pirate metal!

I don't deny its existence, I just deny its claim to be its own subgenre when all what it is is dressed up power metal, much like how H.I.M. calls itself "Love Metal" when all what it is is gothic rock/ alternative metal, or at least it was in 2003 when I cared about them.

Educate me on what the word Modern has to do with Rock/Metal. I have no idea what people are talking about when they mention Modern Rock/Metal.

I few suggestions for the metal education post:

Moving Entombed from Melodic Death to regular death metal and putting Carcass instead.

Removing Iron Maiden from Power Metal and putting Helloween in there instead.

Perhaps adding NWOBHM and Grindcore genres to the post.

Agree with all but don't remove Iron Maiden.

I thought Revolver was the first psychedelic rock album, not Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band?

It's one of the first but it was pre-dated by both Frank Zappa's Freak Out! and Byrds Fifth Dimension.
